Well now two games in. First game the Flyers competed well, played pretty solid defensively. But didn't get enough offense, or pucks to the net.
Second game, played well early, had some bad breaks against, got the offense going. And then the team defense broke down

That Elias goal especially. Have to see the video on that one. How can a guy be left that alone in a tight game in the 3rd period? Unacceptable.

Old bad habits creeping in, and proving fatal. Gap control and defensive breakdowns, an inability to smartly move the puck up ice consistently and careless play killed the Flyers.

Thankfully it seems the Pronger situation won't come back to bite them in the ass, anymore than it has for the past few seasons where he's had to sit on LTIR. If the Flyers had $4.91mm in dead space for the next 3 seasons, they'd be facing major, major hardships.

it was beyond unacceptable to have any guy, but especially that guy, all alone like that. raffl set this whole play in motion with a bad, very low percentage play from the left half wall into the middle of the ice where it was easily picked off and set back the other way on a rush. as soon as i saw that pass i knew the devils would find a way to score. that kind of coverage happens in a men's league game, not the NHL. disgrace.

what a game in dallas tonight vs. the hawks. looked like a conference final and made the flyers game look like a bad echl game.

kane is just so (frank)ing filthy. and we have luke schenn. think about that.

The guess is he broke his foot blocking a shot. News broke he was out shortly before the game and during intro's he was on crutches near the bench

the fifth goal went short side between the pad and blocker. nice to have the top line out and let that happen, and luke schenn was putrid on the coverage. as i said earlier you need mason to make that stop at that point of the game tied in the 3rd, but it was not a bad goal on his part.

I just saw the replay, Giroux was the closest man to Elias, and he really did nothing to get to him. Just glided and watched. Luke Schenn had his man. Don't know where Del Zotto was.

Luke Schenn was -5 for the game, but really I don't think he coverage on any of the goals was that bad. But when you're on the ice for 5 goals against, that's not good.

Man, 90 percent of the goals Patrik Elias has scored against the Flyers have been unacceptable

I'm dead serious when I say this: I can't wait for that bastard to retire

I think Schenn should've been tighter, and made a better effort with his stick to try and block the shot. But I wouldn't call it putrid. Mason should make that save.

he was half turned, kind of facing the wall, and yes, kept his stick in doing nothing. and the top line shouldn't have allowed the oddman rush, and schenn should have deflected the shot, and ....

it's a save you want and need. it's not a slam dunk save from that spot on a 2 on 1 with bad d positioning, especially where zubrus put the puck.

Patrick Elias might pot 25 goals this year and 12 of them will be against the Flyers.

I assume his entire career is because he kills the Flyers.

Never seen one guy do it to good teams like Elias has done it to the Flyers

Yeah, guys like Mario Lemieux have killed the Islanders, and Crosby's done some damage to some good, bad and average Flyers teams

But Elias has killed us for, what, 16 years now? Against some of the best Flyers teams in the modern era

Can't effing wait for that bastard to retire
