Excellent Blog Tony. I hate the Minneapolis Wild, but it is hard not to respect them. They have good goalie this year , they win. (frank) the St.Louis Missouri and the Chicago Illinois . Nobody watch Minniapolis they sneak up and make a lot of teams humble.

Great write up T, except you put Vaneks pic up with Pommers career stats. I whole heartedly agree with your take on Coyle.

At times he's dazzled, but for the most part he's looked like merely a solid 2 way player. I personally don't like him at center either, I think Yeo needs to decide where he's going to play and keep him there. Let him get used to one position and see if he can take off this season.

Personally I think he should have a reasonably short leash this season, if Knightrider can continue to step up his game, I think he belongs on the 2nd line with Mikko and Thomas.

Outside of Giroux, the Flyers top 9 isn't special.

Just figured I'd throw in a tidbit. I was at tonight's game and I can't see why the Wild shouldn't start both Folin and Dumba. Ballard was plain awful tonight and Dumba is looking like he could be a huge addition to the PP. I would like that quick 3rd line followed by a gritty 4th.

And for the love of god, somebody get Ratgen off that big screen!

What do you make of the goaltender situation this year? Do you see Kuemper/Backstrom splitting duties, or do you see one of them having an advantage to get the majority of starts?

Nice piece of work Tony. The offense is solid, not doubt bout it.

Ballard was bad the majority of last season. He had a few brief moments of positivity, but I wouldn't mind if they put him on waivers. With the emergence of Dumba and Folin as well as re-acquiring Prosser, I think Ballard has become very expendable.

Granted he's cheap as far as cap space is concerned, but at this point, I don't see many if any teams plucking him off waivers.

Sounds like the Wild have a top 9 filled with all-stars. Nice to see there are no flaws in their top 9.

The only reason Ballard will remain on the team is because we have no toughness back there. If Bickel stays and can fulfill the role Ballard did, then I say dump him. I think Folin/Dumba could be a crazy good 3rd pairing, but I don't think it'll go that way.

I personally think they should give the net to Kuemper. He has earned it to some degree, but Backstrom has played pretty well this preseason, so I think they'll start with him, but he gets a short leash I'd say.

Did you guys let go of Bryz yet??

Hopefully he had a strong enough showing to get an offer from a team that has goalie problems out of the gate...

The NHL is a better place with him, good luck Bryz !!!!

Tomorrow final roster will be set and Bryz will be released from his tryout!

Kuemper is the #1 with Backstrom in spot duty. Harding could eventually be back in the mix once recovered. Bryz will be on speed dial should either Backstrom or Kuemper get hurt.

Got to see the new scoreboard in person as well...pretty dang cool! And yes, Ballard had a terrible game to go along with his terrible camp/preseason. If Dumba and Folin do not make this team, something is horribly wrong
