Buffalo, Florida, Leafs, Sens....all in one division. Ouch!

Must be nice for the Habs, Bruins and Lightning who have to play these teams numerous times.....talk about inflating point totals....

Still, Bruins will top this motley division....but Tampa is team on the rise.

they've been saying that for the better part of 40 years..... except for that brief spell when Dougie was on the team.

no way TO finishes in 3rd. I think they'll be down with Ottawa in the 6/7/8 slot.

Every year for the past decade, predictions put the leafs ahead of the Sens...yet, the Sens always do better then the leafs!!

Toronto sucks this year. In fact this division in general is very weak IMO

If the Leafs don't collapse in game 7 they beat the Bruins and advance. If they don't collapse at the end of last year they cruise into the playoffs. That team got deeper up front and on the blueline. I'm well aware that they are the punching bag of the league at any cost but if they can figure out how not to collapse they are a competitive team.

They are a punching bag for a reason. They perfect the art of losing of disastrous proportions.

pretty much! MTL will be the leftover 3rd place...if Price can stay healthy! Injured 3 times in 2 years can set off alarms...without Price, habs aren't a playoff team!

Habs have better offense this year and probably a better D.

I still see Boston winning it

I guess you missed the division realignment. We play everyone in the East 4 times and only the Leafs, Bruins, Canadiens and Sens five times. Really inflating the point total?

so you're saying that because it happened in such spectacular fashion, it cannot possibly be explained by the team just not being very good?

Not lottery but definitely not a top 3 divisional team which is what guarantees you a playoff spot... Without Price, Boston, Tampa & Detroit are easily a better team; that's all I said! I'm sure it is in the back of the upper office's head that they can't over play Price given his 3 injuries in the past 2 years...

So what you are saying is that a team (like the Habs) would have a hard time making the playoffs if their #1 goalie gets injured ?

Talk about hockey knowledge here !!!

Tampa got swept without Bishop...
Boston Withou Rask would also struggle.
And so on...

i guess i don't understand the logic behind evaluating teams minus their best player. OK. Montreal is not as good without Price. so what? he's part of the team. and even with him suffering 2 injuries last year they still finished with 100 points and came within 2 wins of the Finals.

Ah yes, Detroit and their chronically injured superstars.
