No, he wants an ELC. He can get that then go back to Moncton and it won't count against the 50 contract limit. As an undrafted 141 pound hockey player an ELC gives him an opportunity to develop with some light at the end of the tunnel

Tkachev is playing for an ELC. He won't make the team this year so he'll be headed back to the qmjhl regardless. If I were him I'd rather that be with a contract than without. Whether or not he fits with Edmonton short term shouldn't really matter.

Thats why he can to camp here and that's why we invited him.

FYI Eberle is not playing tonight as part of a rotating schedule for regulars so they aren't wiped out during preseason.
