I always liked Hemsky too, but it was time to move on. Best of luck to him in Dallas, except when they play the Oil.

good blog matt

I especially liked this part: "Secondly, Ruff likes the way Hemsky competes. Yes. The way he competes. And why shouldn't he? Ales Hemsky has always gone to the hard areas of the ice and found ways to make plays even when it meant putting his body in harm's way"

effin eh rights.

the haters may have called him a bandaid with a decent amount of validity, but they started using the term "soft" to blanket his injuries and his style of play.
so far from the truth.....

he was our best player and the only guy we had with actual elite talent for too long. but struggled sometimes as he was keyed on so much, and didn't have a lot of help. but he never shied away from the tough areas or taking a hit. dude took a beating far too often actually

I understand why he was moved, and I suppose we needed to turn the page on that era. but he was a great oiler for a long time

There's a couple of players on the Canucks that you could be describing.

I know dude it's pissin me off too. We'll see him three times this year, and i'm willing to bet he puts up points in all of those games including making the oilers D look stupid. I remember a play a couple years ago, hemsky was rushing up on nick lindstrom and he deeked lindstrom out os bad he fell on his butt. There are maybe five guys in the NHL that can or could make Nick lindstrom look that bad. and now because of ignorance from both fans and media we have ot watch as he does it to us. Well done oilers fans and media, you've driven out yet another highly skilled player for no real good reason at all other then you needed a scapegoat.

Luongo, obviously. Or at least the part of his contract that's still on the books.

Just listened to them, seemed a lot more punk than what I'm used to with Soundgarden.
