What do you expect him to say? "yes we're moving the Panthers for sure because no one ever attends"? When has he ever said anything like that? You know, as well as I know, he never ever tips his hand.

Viola is just as interested in other things "south Florida" as he is in the Panthers. He has aspirations regarding the property surrounding the arena, the concerts that fill it, and other things as well.

We don't expect the lonely Quebec wanna-be-that-once- was to understand this. They just "want" because.

Viola is packing from THIS area to go THERE! Why THE F would he do that?

If they win here, you can't get a ticket, that's just the way south Florida is. All the other teams from the Miami Heat to the Miami Hurricanes (from one aspect to the other) know this all too well. Again, and it's well noted, there is a SOLID fan base here just waiting for something of substance and stability to take place. Youth hockey is strong. We don't need to apologize to anyone.

One thing we also know, south Florida has never lost a major sports team....unlike Quebec.

Chicago was always and is always one of the top team in selling merchandise, win or lose. It's more than just a packed house.

Interesting article. I agree that winning will do wonders for the franchise and driving attendence. Been to several Panthers games and they have a lot of great fans. Dont worry about the naysayers and enjoy your team.

Your post is incorrect. Blackhawks had season after season of empty seats during their down years. They may have sold a lot of merchandise, that I'm not aware of, but don't tout the crowds..that's just false.

I think after 20 years of failure in the NHL it might be time to pull the plug and move the team to a more relevant market. Same goes for Phoenix.

I agree 100%, Tampa Bay can be Florida's team and the Panthers can move to Quebec City where they will never be hurting for money again and the arena will be sold out or very close to it.
