Bill is there any chance at all that rinaldo starts the year as 13th forward or in AHL?

Virtually zero chance of the AHL. Slim chance he's not in the opening night lineup on the fourth line.

How crazy would it have been if Forsberg accepted that contract late in the 2010 season? Wonder what would be the effects of the contract, considering Forsberg was ineligible for the playoffs.

Wish I could go to the Rookie game today! Too many work things today, unfortunately, that could not be moved. I went to the one a few years ago with BSchenn and Couturier and it was fun....

That game Forsberg had against Buffalo is one of my favorite Flyers games that I ever attended.

Assuming the line up remains for the rookie game, the Leier - Laughton - Aube-Kubel line could be fun to watch.

Oh it's good have a prospect pool.

Great piece on Forsberg, Bill! One of my favorite players of all time and a guy I got to grow up watching and emulating. It's really an awesome thing that both Lindros and Forsberg got to dominate in the Orange and Black. I think we take it for granted that we got to watch such outstanding players up close.

I am guessing the top line will be a legit line for the phantoms. I wonder if they keep Laughton and Leier together. That could be a good 3rd NHL. Line for years to come

Nice insight on Fazleev. It's great that he's wanting to learn all the positions and be a versatile guy.

The only chance I see is if Laughton tears it up in camp and makes it impossible for the Flyers to keep him out of the top 12. In that case the 4th line could Raffl, Laughton, and PEB.

but that is also assuming that PEB makes the roster out of camp as well...

I can't envision the Flyers keeping Laughton out of the lineup. I expect them to throw him in much like they did with Gagne, Richards, Carter etc...

True, but I don't think they brought a 29 year old over here to play in the AHL.

Why not? He has not NHL experience.

Very excited to see Straka-Alderson play as well. Berube says they have good speed. We need speed. (and Alderson has grit which we REALLY need- because I have never mentioned that on here before )

To be honest, I'm not really interested in having the exact same discussions we had last September about how Raffl will need months in the AHL because the transition from big ice/European hockey to small ice/NHL is so difficult. All the arguments are the same, the only difference is that PEB is an older, more accomplished player than Raffl was.

I understand. I'm saying that just because he is older doesn't mean that he is a lock for the Flyers lineup. If he doesn't impress in camp then he's bound for the Phantoms IMO.

Trust me I'd rather roll the dice with PEB than Rinaldo.

I am just glad to watch some hockey today. Wonder if anyone will drop the gloves. And Morin looks huge with the added muscle. Ghostisbere must love having him as a partner. Mess with Ghostisbere and get the Monster Morin

Sanheim will be part of the defense corps by then.

A prospect pool full of third liners and maybe a scoring forward. The good thing about the Flyers farm is depth, the bad is the lack of any top tier prospects.
