Brossoit could potentially play in net, i agree there.

Gernat's supposedly up to like 207 now.

I'm doing it for every goalie outside of those who look like they're "can't miss."

Good read, but I was a tad surprised that neither Simpson nor Musil made that portion of the list. Both seem like safer bets to achieve their potential than Gernat and both are further along than Lagesson, but I guess Gernat's dynamic qualities (and, as such, higher potential) and Lagesson's relative freshness give them the edge on this list.

I guess there's room for 1 more in the top-5 aside from Leon, Nurse, Klefbom, and Yakimov, but I'd think Chase would seem more likely for that spot. On that note, how about Roy? Do his injuries worry you too much to place him on this list?

A bit worried about some of the injuries to Roy, also didn't have the season he should have. As for Musil, eh...skating man. (frank) he's slow as hell. The AHL will be telling, but I think he might get slaughtered.

Number 10 was a big toss up between Brossoit and Simpson for me.

Guys as slow as musil have made an impact in the show before, but they generally have an intangible quality. Ie; great leadership etc.

Until we see that in musil, i really cant see him ever playing full time in the nhl

Musil was slow as a WHLer.

Like, if he can do a Willie Mitchell thing and somehow always have perfect positioning so his slowness isn't an issue, then terrific.

But a lot of slow guys never do. We're probably talking like 1 in 30 at that footspeed level.

Can we see a quick 10-1 of the teams with the strongest prospect pools? Or is that too open for interpretation?

A little difficult but

Buffalo
Florida
NYI
Ducks
Lightning (though a lot of their guys graduated)
Columbus
Dallas
Wings
Flames

then it gets pretty hazy.

I'd say its too open to interpretation, and once you get past like #5, every team has basically the exact same players from 6-10 just with different names and fans saying "nuh uh, our #7 prospect is way better than yours, chodeface!"

I once saw a guy get into a debate about how his team was 20 deep in solid future NHL players...20 (frank)ing deep.

Dude, I've seen people splooging all over the place with rookie camps this week.

Sorry dudes, but I don't care about a prospect tournament where maybe 4-5 players a team will player 100+ games and probably only 2-3 will be above replacement level players.

Rookie camps are good for a few laughs though, pond hockey between guys who have most likely never seen his linemate play let alone spoken to them before being thrust together.

Its better to show who is entirely hopeless. Like, if you can't even be average-ish as a draft+1/2/3 player in one of these things then... uh... enjoy your rights being let go.

Have the Oilers been in the top 5 of this list at all in the past 5 years? If not that's a pretty serious indication of where to start making changes.

The Ducks and Tampa look like they are getting pretty scary but I wonder how long (if ever) it will take to translate into playoff success.

Columbus looks like a team on the rise, especially if Bob can keep it up. They need to get rid of Johansen though, he's an anchor.

6/10 teams on the list, best news I've heard from the Eastern Conference in years.

They usually however between 7-15, problem is their top guys usually are graduated the next season.

Yeah.

Hall, RNH, Yakupov and now Drasaitle will all only have but a few months in the 'prospect' category before they go off the list.

I remember Slepyshev being considered a second round talent in his draft year. I was hoping the Leafs would take a flyer on him but I'm pretty sure you told me even then about his desire to stay at home, Frenchie.
