The NHL needs to balance the conferences. Seattle makes a lot of sense. And why not Las Vegas? It may become every players favourite road trip...hookers and blow!

Why not Vegas? Well, let me see:

No arena.

No fan base.

Devastated local economy.

No interest in hockey.

Casinos won't support it.

Other than that, it looks perfect.

Not sure about peeps from Toronto, but every Canucks game in LV would sellout just on people planning road trips around the travel schedule of the team... considering how expensive Canucks games are it would probably be cheaper to fly to Vegas, watch the game, engage in extra curricular and come home...

based on rep, especially for Carter and Richards... the videos coming out after home games would be great... ie: seguin, ribiero, and the like doing all kinds of stuff after a night on the town..

Looks like the wheels are already in motion. I had no idea.

Leafs will be all over this. Expansion fee and an opportunity to get rid of Clarkson in the draft.

This is great news for players and fans of other teams that get to play in Vegas. Players get to go gamble a bit and fans like us get to plan Vegas weekend trips to see our favorite team play and then go party on the strip afterwards.

I mean players from other teams that have away games in Vegas, but yea that's very true too. It's an exciting place to live.

They probably have another franchise (Seattle? Quebec City?) waiting to be announced soon too.

vegas will have more fans come to their games than teams with fans that don't care such as phoenix, ottawa, florida etc. plus they have just as many cups as a bunch of teams in the league such as sens, canucks etc. so i don't see why so many people are bashing at this idea.

the Quebec arena is suppose to be done by fall 2015, wouldn't be shocked, but if they expand that means a east team has to move west so its 16&16.

Seattle makes more sense for an expansion and a relocation goes to Quebec (Panthers?)

I was listening to the NHL Radio a few days ago and they mentioned that the Vegas arena they plan on building will be more geared towards having a lot of suites rather than regular seating.

Yea not sure if they will put them that low but it sounded like they were gonna have 3 or 4 floors of suites and then 2 floors of regular seating. Could make sense for Vegas...lots of rich high rollers. Throw some poker tables and professional dealers in those suites and you're set.

Hockey doesn't belong in the desert. I'm sorry but I'd rather see a team in seatle first.
