Good read, I'm looking forward to the new Caps this year. I'm excited to see how Ovechkin plays under Trotz. I think Ovechkin gets far too much criticism, in his time in the NHL perhaps only Crosby has transformed a franchise more than him. Without Ovechkin these past few seasons the Caps would have been pretty mediocre. I'm glad the new GM addressed the real problem in team defence. Now hopefully Trotz can get the whole team to buy in. |

Going to be one of the more interesting story lines of the upcoming season. I honestly have no idea if he can get that team back on track, but Trotz might be one of the best candidates to give it a shot.

I literally have no clue how Washington will be this year. This could work perfectly, or it could totally blow up in their faces. If I had to make a prediction, I'd say they have a decent year, get into the playoffs simply because the East sucks, then lose in a 7 game series against the Rangers, because, you know, no one's sick of that matchup yet. |

I literally have no clue how Washington will be this year. This could work perfectly, or it could totally blow up in their faces. If I had to make a prediction, I'd say they have a decent year, get into the playoffs simply because the East sucks, then lose in a 7 game series against the Rangers, because, you know, no one's sick of that matchup yet.

I'm wondering what would happen in case Trotz is not able to make something good of this team and doesn't get Ovy on track.
How much time will be given to Trotz?
Like someone said before the Caps will be a very interesting story to follow this year. Sure Ovy is a scoring machine, but that just doesn't cut in anymore to win playoff series. Hope he finally understands that.

You just don't fire coaches like Trotz , tippet,Ruff,Quenville,and Babcock .therr are a few others you could throw in there I'm sure as well, but Nashville made a bad choice firing Trotz and he will do great think in Washington I'm sure.he is an awesome coach who just plain gets the best out of his players. |
