"A divided fan base that will drive you nuts?" Does she mean there are actual fans of hockey who watch and root for the Islanders and there are also blaghers who know nothing about hockey but will do anything to stay in management's good graces and never question Chairman Wang's methods?

This is ridiculous. Wang was offered 400 mill for 80% of the team. He isn't getting a better offer. This is a guy who has:
1- Complained about the ToH never giving him an answer on the Lighthouse, so he cut bait when his deadline passed...whining that it cost him millions to come up with the plan with never getting an answer. so what does he do with this negotiation....leaves it open ended despite having an offer in April. How long does he think a 400 million offer sits on a table.
2- Didn't Wang claim he loses 20mil a season? Well, he could have recouped those losses in this deal. Maybe he isn't losing 20mil a season although a hack like you will keep parroting it.
3- Didn't he say if he had to do it all over again, he wouldn't buy the team? Well, here was your chance and guess what...you still own the team.

Wang is a joke. The fact that some twit tweeted that the man making the offer would be "cheap" and "no better than Wang" and you ran with it shows what a clown that person is and what an unpaid intern for life would do for the organization that will let her keep her blogbox seat. Well done. Barroway is respected by the NHL. He has a great rep amongst the owners and helped keep the Devils solvent a few seasons ago. But why let facts get in the way of the narrative you always want to push which is Wang saved the Islanders. Truth is, he was a bandaid in 01 and since that initial season of his, he has become the cure that is killing the patient.

Just sell and end this hostage negotiation, Charles. Dee might have Stockholm syndrome, but the rest of us don't. You are a TERRIBLE owner. Name another owner that traded for a RETIRED player just to reach the cap basement, rather than actually spend the 5 million on a player who could help. At least Spano was "entertaining"in the way of a soap opera. This is just a horror show and the bad guy keeps racking up the victims.

Unfortunately the NHL doesn't operate like Survivor.

I dont give a crap who owns the team as long as they're a competitive team this year that makes the playoffs.....possible do some damage in the playoffs. I think they have improved the team for this to happen.....a stay home veteran defensemen would help.

Yes he has. If the Devils can be punished for cap circumvention with the Kovalchuk deal, then what do you call the trading for a retired goalie just to reach the cap basement? For several years, the Islanders have have actually paid below the salary cap basement because those are the type of deals Wang likes....Get a Viz whose cap hit is actually 2 million more per season than what he actually gets paid. If the nhl has anything close to the "best interests" clause that mlb has, they can get rid of Wang.

The NHL stated that the Islanders broke no rules in trading for Thomas. I dont know if you know this or not.. Bettman considers Wang a good owner for the league. Only way Wang is giving up ownership of this team is through sale or Death & even with death.. then its his Kid's team. Hes' not selling.
