any truth to the rumor that scuderi needs surgery as his injury never really healed correctly? if he does have surgery, is that a long time recovery or a quick fix and he will be back at camp on time?

what are the parameters with the sutter issue? Do they have the ability to trade his rights until a certain date (i had heard dec 1)? Does he report to camp if he is unsigned?

Wouldn't it make sense to trade Paul Martin now for a top 6 forward? Considering that pouliot, dumoulin and possibly Harrington are ready to play in the nhl. Also considering that he may walk next summer for nothing...

In my experience, you have to frame your question with cereal humor to get noticed.

Dont understand the holdup on the Sutter extension. Why it is taking this long is baffling. He either signs a one yr deal or multi...its not that hard. Anyone hear anything?

In respect to the question regarding Kapanen and Pouliot on who has a better chance of making the team, I am slowly closing in on Kapanen making it out of camp.

His speed and hockey IQ is something I believe will let him compensate for his lack of size early on. He is healthy coming into camp, which is huge, and the penguins top six is not set.
On the other hand there is plenty of competition on D and with Pouliot recovering from surgery he doesn't have any upper hand to make the team out of camp.
We also don't know if Bennett will be completely healthy coming into camp, leaving a spot open for Kapanen to get a try out.

You know it's the slow point of the offseason when the official Penguins twitter account is posting about Letang getting a haircut. The puck-bunnies are going to be disappointed.

Me thinkst there is a disagreement of some significance. Hence, the delay. Money? Term? Laundry privileges? It's hard to say.

I'd put Kapanen's odds of making the team past the 10 game tryout at 15%. Most scouts feel he is not ready, too small, and gain at least a little exposure to the physical style of NA hockey.

Timmonen is having bloodclot problems. Not good.

Well written Ryan , more humor than anything else you've ever written. This is the longest month in hockey , I hate it, but I did crack a smile today at your article Ty. I'm predicting Letang to have a great season, possibly Norris, just feel like he's past this health issue(as much as he can be) and that he is going to surprise us all.
