Didn't Linden say something about Horvat making the team and if he made the team he likely wouldn't go to the wjc? I can't remember if it was him or totally somebody else.

Wondering about Jonathan Drouin, some said he should have made the Lightning last year, will he play in the wjc if he makes the Lightning? So many players in the same situation, I guess it all depends on their role with the big club.

You are correct. Linden said that the ultimate scenario would be if Horvat basically forced the Canucks to keep him with the team, instead of releasing him to play in the WJC.

As far as that goes, my understanding is, teams are allowed to release their Jr eligible players to play in the WJC. It's up to the team and management if they ultimately decide to do so.
