Blue Jackets are screwed because they have that possession anchor Jack Johnson on their team. I always thought he was a good defender capable of logging tough minutes and producing offensively, but after seeing his Corsi, my entire mindset has changed. He's nothing more than a 3rd pairing defenseman that needs to play sheltered minutes. They should trade him for a guy like Thomas Hickey. He has some stellar Corsi.

Fun fact: Johnson was last among Blue Jackets with 1,000+ minutes last year in 5vs5 points/60. Averaged just .55.

Same spot as last year, I still think the flyers and Rangers are better unless of major injuries.

This year will be telling of their potential, at least as far as the "big 3" (no, nobody has ever called them that) young guys. Strome, Nelson and Lee all should be taking another step forward. If they all improve I start feeling a lot more confident moving forward.

Only real move the Flyers made was trading Hartnell for Umburgers. Although Hartnell is obviously more offensively better, Umberglers is better defensively and can skate faster/better. Umbigelers a better fit for Berube's system.

Umberger is terrible. I do not believe for one second that the Flyers are going to be better this year than they were last year.
