Do you think there's any chance the B's trade Krugs rights and role with Warsofsky in that bottom pair, pp specialist role? Not that I want it to happen, but it would certainly be one way to save cap next year. |

Way too early to assume that he is anything near to a krug.
Even krug still needs to prove himself a consistent player.
Green, karrolsson, Latang, even Subban. These guys put huge numbers up and then the next year are mediocre at best, in the point production area.
If krug can put up reasonable numbers and still play d then he will be a huge asset. And if we can showcase war then maybe we can trade him to the west for assets.
But, six games isn't enough to think he will be the answer on the PP. IMO.

The only thing that matters from the bs point of view is if he can have the bruins PP fire on all cylinders.
If he can have the PP in the top ten in the nhl, maybe around 20%, a bit lower likely, then that is all that matters.
We have been top five if not top two in goals allowed and in the top five usually in ga. PP is all that he needs to worry about. |

So maybe this year they are flying under the radar... last year, Iggy was brought in, lots of hype, expectations, and even regular season wins. This year, they're still gonna win a lot of games, probably have home ice in the playoffs, mostly the same team but a little older on D, which is good, (for miller and Krug and sigh... bart) but also Bad, (Chara..Seids) but on offense, except for a winger on one of the top lines, ... same team. |

I think Eriksson bounces back this year. He was good for several seasons on bad Dallas teams. If he clicks with Krejci they should get some solid production. |

Nesn put an article about Loui and posted the full game highlights from the Flyers game where he played with 17/46. He was amazingly good passing with Krejci and it seemed to open tons of space for Lucic. I think some people don't realize that Lucic and Krejci really drive that line themselves. I loved Iginla, but aside from his leadership I think Lucic and Krejci made him better, not vice versa. I think he just got them to play every night. If they can stay consistent, I think Eriksson could be a much nicer compliment to those two. He brings way more skill but scores the dirty goals similar to Iggy, even without the physicality. I think we might see Looch pot 30 while DK and LK flirt with 70 pts. |

No, no, it was just supposed to be a conversation starter lol. I don't want to trade Krug, but was just posing the question seeing as how Warsofsky is basically the same player, albeit unproven. Gotta cut cap somewhere, still waiting to see where that is |

I agree. I wrote almost the identical thing on as past post.
You look at his full yrs on Dallas and he was averaging around 30 goals and around 70 points and on a sub par team. So I defiantly see him coming back and having a yr that is closer to middle of the bell curve. |

Agree but who?
Chara. Hamilton
Seindenberg. ? (Boychuck, Miller, Mcquaid)
Krug. (Miller, Mquaid, Bartkowski, warsofsky)
Joe Morrow probably needs another yr on the baby bs.
I think miller is going to be a very good d man. He is going to be the Seindenberg replacement in two years.
I would love to keep boychuck but I can not see a way he stays after this season AND we have so many young players that we need to have open spots to see what they can bring to the NHL.
And Quaider, is a 4-6 d man on the team and we seem to need those spots for the younger guys. |

I think you move McQuaid and Bart. Miller replaces McQuaid and if Krug is signed, you have puck movers with Hamilton and Krug.
I keep Boychuck until the deadline. Then you have to decide if you're keeping him or Krejci. The Salary Cap and what their next contracts will probably be will not allow the Bruins to keep both.

that's what I've been hoping for. Trading Boychuck does not make this team better.

Krejic 5.25, Campbell 1.6, Paille 1.3, Solderberg 1.01, boychuck 3.5, Quaider 1.6, Bartkowski 1.25 are all UFA.
Hamilton 900k, is a RFA that has played three years in the league and should be able to receive offer sheets from other teams. (Phi for example would be all over offering an offer sheet to him.)
In that list who is going to receive the biggest raises?
Krejic 6.5 - 7.5
Campell will walk
Paille 2 - 3
Solderberg 3.5 - 5+. If he has a yr that would make him ready for the second line, and we are a 1a 1b line team, then he will be able to get the higher side of that range easy. MTL, chi, Pitt, etc., a lot of teams need a good second liner.
Boychuck 4.5 - 5.5+
Mcquaid 2.75 - 4
Bart 1.5 - 2.5
Hamilton 3.5 - 5+ with Hamilton it matters on the length. We should give him a long term deal for the higher range IMO. 5yrs $5 mil per. If he would take it.
If not then he would be around 2 yrs for $3.5 mil per.
So looking at the d men. Chara at 7, the German hammer at 4, Hamilton at say 4, boychuck at 4.5, krug at 2.75, and a ??? At the sixth spot.
That's around 6 mil in raises without a six man yet and not even looking at the forwards. |

I think that Krejic will get 6.5 - 7 for four years, nothing major as far as raises go.
And Solderberg will get 4 for 2 yrs.
So that will likely work next yr as long as we can get rid of Kelly's contract $3, and with the penalties coming off the books (man that kills us this yr) around $4+ mil.
We may be able to sign both boychuck and Krejic I guess. Along with keeping Solderberg.
But then we still have a lot of ?s in the prospect department. Who do we keep and where do we play them? |
