I'd make sure Schultz gets at least 2 years on his deal. The risk of losing BOTH Schultz and Petry in one year is not worth it, even though it's unlikely. It would set us even further back.

To be honest I've hardly ever seen Schultz play, but I doubt/hope for your guy's sake, Franson is the superior player. Franson's only 'strong point' is his shot. For someone with as good a shot as he has, he only scores at a slightly better clip than Carl Gunnarsson

Jultz numbers are skewed- a chunk of his points were where he was functioning as a fwd instead of a dman... He gets caught in la la land alot and provides no real challenge to play against in the dzone...

TBH- I cant see us being much worse when it comes to wins and losses with or without Jultz... the dude may shine offensively but it does not tell the entire story...

He has the upside but he plays the game like, well a kid. He hasn't no concept of the defense part in defenseman. I think he has a tonne of potential but needs a steady stay at home or at minimum, someone with the speed to cover his shortcomings. He'd be great with a Giordano, Weber... steady, reliable. Hell even Smid was better for him... He's not a 4 mil d-man but sadly thats the new NHL...

I think MacT (frank)ed up by telling the world Jultz is part of the core... now the kid expects the 6 mil the rest of the core is getting.

Honestly I don't know what Jultz does that just about any winger couldn't do with a few months of practice. The guy doesn't play defense.
