Moving any of the 3 defenders for anything short of a scoring, legitimate second liner center would be a mistake. |

Washington not interested in maybe bringing back Ribeiro for cheap? |

I was against Ribs from the very beginning. Eakin would look real nice in a 3C role right about now. |

He's a much better 2nd line center than Laich. |

I don't want to see Sheahan included in any sort of package for a RH defenseman. The Wings are stocked at wingers but need centers like Sheahan for the future. |

Now you're thinking like Holland.
Second line center is something that we are clogged up at for the next 3-4 years. Larkin, if he proves to be as good as we hope, should be coming out of college by then and be ready to take over where Weiss will leave off, if he stays there. Sheahan is a 2-3rd line center through and through, but they are expendable and replaceable. Our top priority should be a top pairing defensemen who is young enough to help carry this team when Kronwall leaves in 5 years. |

If the Wings send Jurco or Tatar for Mike Green I'll have to jump on the fire Holland bandwagon.
Green would probably be a good fit for the Wings if he can play decent defense and stay healthy. Both of those are big ifs though. Add in his cap hit, he's only got one year left on his deal, and even he signs he's going to be on the decline and it's not worth a top prospect/nhl ready player. If you can get him for less great though.
At least someone like Myers is young with a lot of upside and signed for several years. |

There's no trade to be had there and Detroit will not trade away either of Tatar or Jurco. |

If Detroit is going to acquire a top 2, 3, or 4 defenseman, it will be at a premium. A lot of people are delusional thinking that the team is going to trade a 3rd line forward and a 2nd round pick for one. Good defensemen are in high demand and Holland is going to have to give up something of value to get one. |

I understand that but with the current Capitals line-up he would be. Hence why I think the Caps should go get Ribeiro then. |

Sure but the Wings aren't as desperate as people like to make them out to be. And you would have to be desperate to pay that much for Mike Green. |

Laich doesn't sniff top-6, unless he is LW. We have no second line center, despite GMBM and whoever else insisting Kuznetsov or Laich can play it.
Ribs is a coke head and a selfish player. He's easily a better player than Laich, but I'd rather stay away from him and his behavioral issues. |
