The only real piece i can see there would be Stepan....possibly Hagelin...

Im sure they learned playing LA that they made a mistake letting Gaborik loose...

Maybe a Sharp and Leddy for Stepan and Hagelin deal....this would allow the Rangers to re-sign Brassard for the decent raise hes in line for....

doesnt really seem though that NY needs help on the blue line...

No. Rangers have more than enough wingers and D. They need a center, this trade does not help them in slightest.

It works cap wise but the NYR seems to be short on their roster . This deal you propose would leave the Hawks with 1m in cap space which is good and the NYR would be left with 10m in cap space. They seem to have a thin roster #wise thoguh

i actually agree that they dont need any help on D....however...they had trouble scoring in the playoffs....

Some can be moved to wing (likely Lazar and Hoffman). But, it seems to me Smith at $1.9m. is the best solution for the Hawks. He is a rugged player, loved by Paul MacLean because he plays exactly the way the coach wants him to play, never misses a chance to play the body, nice hands.

Smith is a way too heavy for us........Stepan seems to be the size preferred by SB

I see the Hawks making a few maintenance moves- Oduya for draft picks- to get under the cap then figuring out Toews and Kane extensions followed by "See you at the convention"……. But that's just me.
