People need to get over the Brooklyn move. Its done. They're going. Nassau failed to keep the team. They had their chances, they blew them all. Who gives a s**t if the Isles get a new third jersey and its black and white? At least they're not going to be playing home games in new third jerseys in Quebec, Seattle, Kansas City or some other place.
And lets get a little more perspective here. Its not as if the "die hards" that live in Suffolk and Nassau have been packing the NVMC. the team ranks among the bottom in attendance and has for years. On any given night, thousands of the opponents' fans fill the lower bowl because the "die hards" and other LI-based Isles fans don't go to the games. Frankly, if I was Yormark, I wouldn't worry about catering to a fan base that has been absent for years.
I know, the team has been awful and I myself wouldn't be a season ticket holder or go to too many more games than I already do now living in NJ even if I lived on Long Island based on the sh**ty product on the ice. This is not a blame game. Fans have a right not to spend hard earned money on a sh**ty product and I completely get it and understand it. But then don't expect the incoming marketing people for the team to cater too much to a fanbase that has been absent either. |

Exactly. Some Caps fans resisted the move from distant Landover MD to downtown DC back in 1997, but for those who stuck around the game day experience is about 1000x better. |

How does Snow still have a job? He's worse than Milbury and Lowe combined, and that's saying a lot. |

I don't believe he's worse than Milbury. In fact I don't think there's a GM alive or dead who is worse than Milbury but I agree I have no idea how the man still has a job? Actually, I do. Charles Wang. The only idiot alive who would allow this to continue. |

Snow is definitely not worse than Milbury. At least Snow has re-stocked the farm system and has lots of good prospects. Milbury iced bad teams and had no prospects in the farm system to boot. But yes, Snow has not done a good job and should be fired. |

Snow is not even the worst GM in the current NHL... but Wang is the worst owner!!! |

Shhhh...don't upset the few fans like Dee who can't get over the fact that Nassau County could care less and still cares less where the Isles go, or the fact that the Islanders outside of 1978-1986 have been a diasaster in Nassau County when it comes to attendence, sponsorship, or most importanly, being able to put a decent product on the ice.
I swear some people would rather see the Islanders remain a broke bottom dewellar under Wang in a crumbling Nassau Coliseum as opposed to a rich and hopefully successful franchise in Brooklyn. |

i honestly cant believe that i still read this blog everytime Dee posts. in hopes of hearing some long awaited news about the team, i always find myself a little more depressed! holy Debbie Downer. Seriously, get over the move. Yes, things will be different. Embrace the fact that there will be renewed attempts with new ideas in regards to building the fan base back up to what it should be.
This thing has been broken for a bunch of years......Its about time it gets fixed.

Let's be frank, the only true weakness, that has caused many of us not to renew our season tickets is simple...CHARLES WANG. |

There's more to being a good GM than drafting prospects to fill a prospect pool. Being able to build a NHL team that wins and competes is a rather large criteria for a GM. When the team a GM runs misses the playoffs six out of eight seasons, finishes in the bottom five five times with one last overall finish as well, its hard to say the GM has done a "good job". You are what your record says you are. |

I know. Some people just can't get over the move to Brooklyn. Wouldn't EVERY ISLANDER FAN rather them be playing in New York instead of in a different state or country??? Obviously that answer should be a resounding YES!!!! You will always have someone complain and it is always Dee!!!! |

well said...unrealistic expectations...you cant judge someone on their record during a rebuild. plain and simple. id say this past season was the first year where we can start judging based on record, so far 0 for 1, but im hopeful for this upcoming season. |
