I always hated Claude Lemieux, and that goal did nothing to help him. I don't care if it was Hexy's fault or not, Lemieux is still a jerk for scoring it.

A smart two-way defenseman with a right-handed shot? Never a bad thing.

I don't in the least condone unnecessary disrespect or being a jerk for no reason but on the ice, you do what it takes to win. It seems to me for all the sh*t Lemieux is known for (the reckless hit on Draper stands out for me) he had a tunnel vision for winning and he did. As much as we all might hate him, he won.

A dopey one-dimensional defensive-defenseman with a left-handed shot (if you wanna call it that)? Flyers will draft him.

He's a Honka Honka burnin' love.

(someone had to say it, so I figured I would get it out of the way so we can move on)

You are welcome.

Your mission for the rest of the month is to find Vinny and get a picture with him.

Nice write up Bill

Though trying to predict the 17th selection in the NHL draft rates somewhere on the difficulty scale between herding cats and curing the common cold.

I really hope the flyers take a couple of forwards with heavy upside in this draft. We have too many safe players in the system.

sounds like a car from the balkans.......funny about that lemieux goal; for years now i've remembered it as a late 2nd period goal and i just remembered why. it was at a point in the third where i was thinking about it going to overtime so we'd have another period to win the game. funny how that happened

I've always preferred the younger, svelte Elvis to the bloated and nearly dead on the toilet version, but to each his own!

Lemieux absolutely ranks on my top 10 list of all time hated players.

Yeah, I know, now I got to get the list out there

From what I've seen of Honka (Highlights and such) I like him. I wouldn't be concerned about drafting when we already have Ghost. You can never have too many puck moving defenseman.

In searching for your dream Elvis, I came across this one - Andy Kaufman impersonating Nick Cage impersonating Elvis, I think.

You know, whenever the name "Lemieux" comes up in hockey conversation, Mario is not the one who invariably leaps to my mind. Its Claude that I first think of, and then I think of how much i despised him.

Is it just me or does seem like more and more the top 25-35 players picked seem to be making nhl rosters eventually than in the past.

Without going back and doing math, I think that prospect scouting has become a better (yet still inexact) science than it was in the past. Whether it's due to the internet, better use of statistics, more scouts in different locations, etc. there seem to be fewer (in general) busts. I don't think you'll ever see another Alexander Daigle or Patrcik Stefan unless there's a wide-open, weak draft.
