In my opinion what Boyle did the other night should be considered a hockey play. I think you should be able to check the stick in an attempt to lift or pin it to the ice. I think refs should not be allowing the slashes around the wrists, you see it all the time and rarely does it get called.

Check the stick yes. But not break it. If said stick happens to break then its a penalty.

I'd love to get your opinion on the "hit" by Zuccarello on Dustin Brown.

Yes it was penalized... but I consider that a much more dangerous, potentially career ending type play.

And I think they called it a trip, what it in fact was - was a knee.

I have seen more than a few players demonized for cleaner hits.
