The bolts need drouin. They would only be down 2-1 with his offense.

You and I agreed that the refs needed to let them play and they didn't. The no goal sucks no doubt, I thought it was good too. No way Emelin was intentionally trying to take out Stamkos with that knee though. I think tomorrow you'll get up and want to retract some things in this blog. While the no goal hurt and momentum was stunted by poor reffing, not letting a goal in 11 secs into the game can't help.

One of the worst calls I've seen in a very long time. Quite pathetic.

Why is there no mention about the terrible call on briere in a scrum picking up the only penalty that led to tbs goal

That was some terrible officiating in the second period. That should have been a goal and Stamkos was not offside on that breakaway he should've had. They slowed it down on RDS and showed that he was clearly onside. If you watch the disallowed goal replay you will see Carey Price make and extra effort to touch Killorn prior to Killorn exiting the crease. If Price was 100% trying to stop the puck he wouldn't have even needed to be in contact with him... Extremely disappointed... Montreal deserved games one and two hands down but this game was not so clear cut and Tampa dominated the hitting parade. Just disappointed that the men in stripes ruined a good game.

Some bad penalties and non calls both ways. A Stamkos cross check was missed in the second and a few hooks and trips here and there for both teams but it is unbelievable that the refs disallowed that goal. It is pathetic because this was a good game.

We will read in Montreal blog tomorrow that the goal called off was right and that Tampa wasn't penalized enough.

Habs win it 3-2.

Tampa had plenty of time to come back in the game and win it... they didn't.

Bad refs here.. bad refs there.. cooooommmmmon!!! it's part of the game. Play the call.. play the puck and work harder than the opponent if you want to win the game.

Herein lies the problem. They did that for the second half of the game and got shafted by the officials.

Its always a tough pill to swallow when a game is decided by a refs call.
But Kerry Fraser came out and said that the right call on the ice was made according to the rules, and that it might not sit well with anyone watching but sounds like the league will be backing this call.

Kerry Fraser ‏@kfraserthecall
Correct call on disallowed goal! 69.3if goalkeeper in act of establishing his position within crease, initiates contact with an attacking

Kerry Fraser ‏@kfraserthecall
Cary Price knows this rule & works it to his advantage better than any goalie in the league. It's the rule & I will not debate it further!

I think games should be decided by the boys on the ice, not the guys in stripes. Bob McKenzie even said it himself, even though its technically correct, he doesn't like it, and thats how most people feel. Tampa just needs to respond instead of letting sink the ship, its an uphill battle but its not 4-0 series win tonight

The Emelin intention for one, and the one sided reffing. Ya the no goal was brutal but do you honestly think Briere deserved the cross check in the scrum? The no goal was pretty poopty I agree but the Stamkos thing is tough especially on the crowd, live. I wasn't there but was unsure what happened just watching it on TV. I had to wait for the replays to understand it, not an option until later for the crowd.
Stamkos and Prust locked up, a play that happens a lot and did happen a lot tonight and you suspect interference and intentional, suspendable kneeing to the head. I get that you're pissed and don't blame you but thats conspiracy territory and 'knee' jerk reaction writing.

Complete Bell Centre special from the officials tonight … From the many non-calls against the Habs (typical in Montreal), the phantom offsides on Stamkos when he was in alone, the phantom "goaltender interference" that negated the goal …

What a (frank)ing joke. One of the worst one-sided officiating snow jobs I've seen in a long, long time. The NHL ought to be ashamed at the joke of a product they presented to the fans tonight.

Tonight presents one hell of a case for the use of video review in the NHL ...

Could have been an interference call on Prust just before Stamkos went to the ice and got kneed in the head, right? There are always missed calls, but that disallowed goal was ridiculous.

I'm content with MTLs chances 5-5. Not something we would have thought at the start of the series.

On Prust or on Stamkos?
