i think this is a lose/lose situation for the isles. they give buffalo this years pick and it tells the team, players and fans that they plan to suck next year or they give buffalo the pick next and still end in the bottom 10 and buffalo gets a better player than they would this year.

Only way i see this working out for the isles is if they win the draft lottery and get 1st overall this year. maybe bettman will do them a solid

Mike i really like your blogs. thank for the interim writing. and as far as NYI's pick go, lets say they don't win the lottery its hard to think they will be better next year with same awful coach and no Moulson or Vanek for JT to play with...

lets say they get Reimer and Niskanen i still see them as a bottom 5 team so i kinda hope they keep the pick this year

Oh, but I'm sure they'll try. And after 5 days of hearing from their fans that they're only a key piece or two away from being a playoff team, I'm just not in the mood to hear it again.

I would be shocked if the Isles don't pick this year and defer our pick to next year(assuming they don't win the lottery). In the situation they are in there is now way the skip picking top 5, send a message to their fan base and team that they plan on sucking next year. For all they know they could end up picking 12th next year.

Wonder if Murray will make a play for Spezza....makes me nervous about are rebuild.
