Stewy couple things

Was there any ramifications for you not making that call? Especially with a supervisor in the building? What would you tell one of your guys now at the ECAC or KHL level that ignored a rule? Basically my real question would be how would you handle an official who was as stubborn as you were? I tease.

Also in regards to the Buffalo Combine. Do you really think the NHL is going to give these officials or soon to be officials (as it sounds like they are going to invite players that probably wont make the pro game as players) a fair shot?

To me it seems like a PR move but I guess proof is in the pudding so to say.

We'll see what happens with the Buffalo combine. Wait and see. I hope it's a step in the right direction.

Regarding that night in Halifax, it actually ties in to tomorrow's blog, because my supervisor and I won the 50-50 raffle at the arena that night! So he was in too good of a mood to be all that upset. The ones who were upset were the cheapskate linesmen that didn't kick in with us and didn't get to share in the INCREDIBLE dinner we went out for after the game .

How would I react? I'd tell him afterward that I knew full well what he was doing out there. Then I'd tell him the story I told here today. I'd finish by saying I didn't want to see it happen again, then give him a slap on the back and head out.

At least I know there are other officials out there who pool money for the 50/50!!!

On a side note I really hope they open that combine so the public could watch what they put these officials through. I for one am pretty curious to see what sorts of testing they do. Just to see how I long I would be able to last!!

I should ask Smitty one of these days when I see him around the rink or Chewy for that matter
