I could never understand why Cincy didn't get included in the NHL merger. I think their owner at the time just wanted to cut his losses, but they certainly had the potential for a good market.
Those Cincy-B'Ham games were always a punchfest. I remember a story of how Bulls enforcer Frank "Seldom" Beaton was caught by the Cincinnati police (who had an outstanding warrant) while trying to hide in the Stingers locker room.
I miss the old WHA. Never a dull moment.
