Tru dat....but another issue is that if you make the playoffs you are going to have to beat a good team anyways....so to me....if the Flyers make the playoffs its going to be deserved and I actually would be excited because to make it they have to beat great teams....and the chance of success in the playoffs is much greater. |

Tough question to answer when the article sort of contradicts itself. . . . You generally point out that top teams might just mail it in, while teams out of the playoff picture could be tougher opposition, but you still pose the question based on the idea that there's somehow a preferential route and that playing against the top teams will still make you more playoff ready. Sounds to me like it's anyone's guess and teams should just bring their A-Game @ all times and in all situations in this league. |

It makes for exciting hockey down the stretch. Philly vs Black hawks should be good. I'm looking forward to seeing how Boston matches up with Philly. I think they will come out of the Metro. IMO.
Gotta love those playoff primers. |

There is no such thing as 'teams you should beat' with the parity in this league. Only a few of them like Sabres and Oilers because they choose to suck.
I would rather play against the tankers or the average teams than the elite teams. I'll speak to the East as I'm a Leafs fan. Anybody except Boston and Pittsburgh is fine with me.
And you'll notice both those teams had serious winning streaks recently. This suggests that these professional athletes continue to compete despite the ridiculous and popular assumption that they will 'take teams lightly' or 'don't have to worry about jobs'. That's BS. Maybe 1 in 50 pro athletes has no balls, but for the most part these players WANT TO WIN! And they realize that they are ALWAYS playing for a contract/job even if their next renewal is 3 years away. |

Watching those teams in contention for the final spots is awesome too. And let's not forget those heart breakers that are out of the hunt. The spoilers. I see the Sens as a potential spoiler thus year. I'm really hoping someone spoils the hopes of the Caps and Red Wings. It's time to see some new blood in there. |

Tell the Isles and Sabres about this parity you speak of.
