Well said Dean.
My biggest issue with Yeo, as you alluded to in this blog, is his refusal to make key changes... and I don't even know if it is him being stubborn or if he and his coaching staff are truly this slow to see the obvious, which I find hard to believe. Brodziak has struggled for over 2 seasons now, and yet he still gets big minutes each and every night. The guy is awesome on PK and is a heck of a defensive center, but that does not mean he deserves as much ice time as our #1 center. Same with Heatley, but we've all beaten that to death...and yet Yeo still feels the need to move him up and down the lineup and give him PP minutes.
Haula, Zucker and Fontaine should all have bigger roles on this team, in my opinion, because all contribute offensively, which is the biggest issue with this club. Granlund should take over for Koivu on #1 PP unit, which it sounds like Yeo finally has figured out and Coyle either needs to be sent down or moved down to the 4th line. He has been ineffective as of late, to put it nicely and it's time Yeo and this organization start demanding more out of their prospects. Which they have no problem doing with Zucker, but apparently everyone else gets a free ride.
Honestly, I do not know how Yeo can possibly stick around if this team doesn't at least make it to the second round. Like Tony said, this franchise has never had a team with so much talent on it like it does this year. To limp into the playoffs only to be knocked out right away is inexcusable.
