Montreal got through this stretch by the skin of their ass. given the circumstances of having to rely on Peter Budaj and the ridiculous logistics that teams have to face on these cross-continent trips (Leafs have it as bad if not worse this week), i think it's a minor miracle that they squeezed 2 points out of this trip and that they haven't fallen too far off the pace.

but either Carey Price comes back and plays well in the next week or two or we're not making the playoffs.

I wouldn't go that far, but the situation is certainly contentious.

Here's an idea, how about removing Gionta from Plekanec's line and go with Vanek-Plekanec-Galchenyuk?

The Habs have so much trouble actually scoring goals, can they really afford to let their best center play a defensive role on the team?

Vanek on a line with Gionta and Plekanec is pointless.

I think so too, and I think Eller could succeed in a defensive role with the experienced Captain and whoever.

if they don't, buy him out, and live with the cap consequences. too much of a loser to keep around for no reason.

That lineup would look good.

Pac - DD - Vanek

EGG

Moen - Plek - Gio

Bournival - White - Prust (I'd rather Prust over Weise)

Tinordi - Subban
Markov - Beaulieu
Gorges - Weaver

Having too many bodies is a good problem to have.

I'm not sold on putting all the eggs in the same basket (Vanek with Patches and DD)

If it doesn't work with Plek, why not try him with some of the kids or Briere?

He went from the guy who suffered concussion and was scared to play because of it to a total loser.

That's not very nice.

We barely know the guy.

He might be very good at something else.

He's just goddamn awful at hockey that's all.
