Nice to see we scored some goals for Corey.
I hear Marty is getting the start saturday, let's hope he's not to rusty.
I'd welcome Cammalleri, i think he'd fit in nicely. Don't know if i'd be willing to give up Gelinas or Merrill though. |

Devils have enough mediocre forwards, He will maybe notch 10 to 15 goals a season at 6 mill per...Reid Boucher can do that for much cheaper.. |

That's intriguing. I believe the asking price is a first and a prospect, but a higher rated prospect could get things done also. We are short on decent right wing prospects also. I'm hoping for a bidding war |

I'd be happy to keep him if he's willing to sign, but that isn't likely. I think Anaheim la and pitsburgh make more sense than jersey, but why take the fun out of a rumour? |

I would love to take the fun out of this rumor, don't want anything to do with Cammy. Most I would give up for him would be a third+average prospect. I am praying that lou doesn't do something stupid. |

Good thing I've been slipping Lou his daily dose of stupid pills over the Olympic break . I don't think jersey makes sense either, but to say that's all he's worth is a bit of an insult. That would be like me saying Marty is only worth a conditional 7th just because we don't have a need for him. |

Burke is doing a good job inflating his value, if he only gets part of what he originally demanded he got a good haul. Cammy is 32, on an expiring contract, and is only putting up .5 points a game in nearly 20 minutes per game. If I am giving up a 1st and a decent prospect I want someone who can be here for a few years or someone more talented. |

With cam, or stempniak here, that means probably lokti gets sent down.. which is ok, but he did just have a nice game.
It would be beautiful if we could package volchenkov and a 2nd and Burlon for cam. Only then is it a win. I could say that his best linemates have been stajan and backlund, but I want a player that can make others around him better. But.. it is the flames. Maybe he gets a pass?
Don't wana lose Merrill, Larsson, gelinas, and definitely don't want to lose Santini. Severson looks great too. If we're going to lose a d prospect with top-pairing potential, there needs to be a better return than camalerri. |

Devils & Flames aren't that great a fit if Devils are just shopping for a rental. If the trade is expanded, then we may have something. You have no 1st & our 2nd is going to be like a real late 1st. We really need a potential NHL ready 4 shutdown type of Dman. All we have is Seiloff & he has had a horrible year from a health standpoint. Larsson would be my target if I was Burke. So we have Cammi as your rental, with a decent shot of resigning, unlike a Vanek. We add our 2014 2nd, then we add another piece, Granlund has had a great AHL so far & matching his brothers AHL numbers, we can add him or its obvious Marty is gone. We have Berra who looked great at the Olympics & has not been too bad for his first year in NA. We could throw him in & he would be probably very good behind Schneider going forward. Like I say, the trade potential is more likely if more pieces were added. |

Agreed. And it is the flames but Cammy won't be playing with better players here. We are the worst offense in the league except Buffalo. |

Christian (frank)ing erhoff are you kidding if we get him and cammi we will make the play offs get bounced quickly for all our young talent out of time and be painfully average for the 5-10 years with no exciting players or anything to look forward to. Lou better get is (frank)ing poop together. We do not need defense we do not need rentals we do not need players over thirty we do not need a goalie we need young talent picks and prospects that should be the only things on Louis to do list not look like a senile idiot |

That's not a terrible deal but I'd still rather take out Cammy and add something else. If we're giving up a future piece like Larsson then we need someone that has more of a future with our organization than a 32 year old UFA. |

He's actually 30 going on 31 this year. But I think if Lou is scouting & wanting to add Cammi the only way a deal works is along what I suggested. Cammi certainly would be a top 6 forward on your team that can put the puck in the net, what we would have to add there. Point is, a deal truly is there that wouldn't be so bad for both teams. A player like Larsson hasn't really developed the way a top 5 pick should have, for whatever reason. These are the type of players that will help Burke speed up his rebuild & take a chance on. But you have to give to get, that's the reality of it. |

Larsson isn't comparable to sCammelleri.
No way no how. 2-3 years does not make a career, not for defensemen who historically take longer to develop anyway.
If Lou moves Larsson for Camms then he needs to move his own ass to the unemployment line. |

I've got Cammalleri born June of 1982, which means he'll be 32 this year.
The bolded is what I disagree with. With what Burke is asking I can only see it as a panic move. Yes Cammy would be a top 6 forward on our team but so would most of the rest of the league. His style of play doesn't fit our system, he's not a dynamic scorer, and considering his current season there's a very good chance that adding Cammy will not put us over the hump and into a playoff spot.
Also, the biggest reason that Larsson's development hasn't been traditional is that Lou has put 8 defensman on one way contracts ahead of him and then tell him to earn his spot when the guys on one way contracts are guaranteed a spot. |

The Devils should be sellers not buyers if they are going to make a "big" move. The Devils don't have enough young depth or draft picks to mortgage their future for a "rental". If anything they need to do something with their log-jam of defenseman they have and move one or two (Salvador and Fayne) so it opens spots up regularly for Gelinas, Merrill and Larsson. |
