I wouldn't hate a trade for Mezaros, and I think he could be picked up for a fair price. I just wonder how much he would really help the Bruins from a defensive standpoint. Last night showed that this team needs to make a move, and it should be a fun 6 days in the Hub.

Tyler Myers is apparently available according to Dreger. I don't think it would be smart to try in season, but could be looked at this summer. A few years under Chara and he could become a star.

Really ugly (and long) cap-hit for Myers, all things considered. Kinda expensive reclamation project, I'd think.

A little long for my liking, but $5.5M with the cap rising could be manageable. Highly doubtful, just more spitballing on my part. I'm sure Chiarelli and Co. have discussed it but I'd be curious to know the plan for when Chara retires.

Mesz has come back solid after just about everyone here has given up on him. It's been a rough two years for him. The Flyers couldn't give him away to start the season but they may actually want to hang onto him now.

yeah because any team that comes out of the break needing points to stay in the playoff hunt and gives up a franking touchdown for the third time this season is a real contender. if they can get a younger prospect for mez they should be doing it

Do you think the Bruins would be interested in Volchenkov if a good chunk of his salary was retained? I think a change of scenery could bring him a little closer to his Ottawa self and he certainly doesn't lack the Boston edge...

subban is their biggest trade chip (kind of sick of everyone putting spooner out there like a damn giveaway), but I would avoid giving him to any eastern conference teams. I wouldn't want him haunting the bruins for years to come, just so we can get a rental. The reason I say subban is because rask will most likely be a bruin for longer than this current contract, and wants the point in keeping subban if that is the case. With that said, what kind of package would we have to send to phoenix for the likes of yandle?

If you're sending Spooner anywhere how about Winnipeg for Ellerby?

No thanks. I don't think the Bruins have interest in trading a future top 6 center for a 25 year old defender who has had trouble sticking in the pro's

You're right, Chiarelli is too smart for that. Maybe we can unload him on Philly.

My opinion is that they should wait to trade Subban, if a goalie pans out as a prospect they can become very valuable. It's worth waiting to see what he turns into first.

When can we finally agree Spooner is going to be, at best, a third line guy? i don't see him haunting anybody, anymore.
