Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Primary Players All Advance to Quarterfinals on Wed. Roberto Luongo sat on the bench as Canada beat Finland 2-1 in overtime to lock up the third seed in the men's Olympic hockey tournament.

Good read as always Carol

with Price getting the win we can't go back now to Lou so price will the go to either win or not.

As for the American side Kessler has played well and hopefully continues when he comes back. He's no Phil Kessel but he has be a big part of them team and defensive stalwart as always.

I think the Americans were lucky to finish with the record they did in the preliminary round. There's no way they should have won against Russia, other than that, weren't really challenged. They are primed to get surprised by either the Czech Republic or Slovakia.

I'm not saying they don't scare me, but they aren't as dominate as others are making them out to be.

The US will clean out both of those teams comfortably. I'm more concerned with Canada than the US at the moment anyway.

Yeah, Russia should have won that game.

The disallowed goal was garbage.

Surprised they didn't riot—I would have...

If by riot you mean you would order another drink then yes you would order another drink.

Lu's Olympics are over, aside from warming the bench... Unless of course Price falters. In which case Canada's Olympics will be over. Either way, I'm fine with it. Price was the guy going in and a game against Austria wasn't going to change that. Price got the job done today. It's his team.

As for Hamhuis, I really don't see what the point of having him on the team is. Obviously he's a fantastic player, but to dress a guy like Hamhuis (defensive dman) and play him only 3 minutes seems stupid when you could dress Subban and play him in offensive situations (like on the PP). Throwing Hamhuis in on different pairings just breaks up the flow for the players he replaces (however briefly)

Still confused about Kunitz. If he isn't playing on Crosby's line, MSL should be in.

The Americans are the 2nd best team in the tourney IMO. Sweden 3rd then Russia IMO. Finland and Sweden at full strength would have made things really interesting.

Especially our defense, not many teams can compete with who we brought.

Agreed. Although I guess they like Hamhuis in case a dman gets hurt and they need the 7th guy to play 10-15 mins.

It could be argued a few teams have been able to compete with who we've brought (overall). Clearly we're all expecting to see the team kick into a higher gear but if that doesn't happen right away we could be in for a shock.

I think we can all agree the problem is finding chemistry for Crosby. Babcock broke up one of our most effective lines (Benn Tavares Bergeron) to get Crosby going. Time to sit Kunitz and play Marty with Crosby.

Canadian Olympian and staring goaltender Carey Price is available. He has the potential to become the best goaltender on the planet.

PM me if interested. There are a few interested parties, and a few are close to what I want; but I'm not willing to move him based on current dialogue.

May the best man win.

I thought I'd pull a trick out of Gillis' book.

I gotta say my player is better than Weise. LOL

I'm interested, but I don't think we can get it done. I don't think a Giroux deal is possible to be honest.

If you're willing to discuss a Neal for Staal+ deal or Neal-Grioux deal once your trade goes through then let me know.

Yes he is. Price should net you a decent return. Even more than Raphael Diaz I'd imagine.
