A couple wins could do good for Nolan. - cabin

Were I Dan Bylsma, I would have given the USA net to Ryan Miller for two reasons:Miller has international experience having created an impressive body of work at the Vancouver games.
games were played on nhl sized sheets in 2010. |

Garth, the fact that you talk down on Quick is ridiculous. I'm a Miller fan myself, but Quick is in fact an elite goaltender. The only reason you want Millsie in net is because you were hoping it would raise his trade value after the Olympic break. Are you in Sochi? Did you see the performances from either goalie during practice? |

Not defending Garth . But please can you look at this seasons stats for the two goalies . Garth was not alone in his opinion . Practically every hockey expert agreed. I am sure Miller is starting against the Russians . The coach will make a decision after that which horse to ride the rest of the way.

After Quicks performance today, I am guess he starts against the Russians as well. The 1 goal scored on him probably should not have counted.
Quick has played about as much pressure as any goalie has faced in the last 2 years, and he has excelled. Olypmics=Playoff's. Quick is a big money goalie.

7-1 USA, and that's why you continuously show why you have no idea about hockey. |

His point was it was played on NHL sized rinks, not international. Who are you talking about ? |

Maybe the fact that Halak knew more about big ice and the problems it could cause psyched him out while Quick was so oblivious to the big ice and playing in big games for that matter that he came in care free an easy
Next Garth article will be how Quick benefited from the system and he still is an average goalie. |

Please share the drugs ! He got limited work and the goal he let in was a softie.!
- Maximum Signal
You apparently have plenty of drugs and do not need to share., Quick was better than the experienced "big ice" goalie Halak.
Quick has actually played in games that meant something the past 2 years, but that wasn't on the "Big Ice" so clearly he is not ready for international competition.
The Big Ice is such a myth on how it changes the game. It's greatest impact has to do with 5 guys that skate up and down, and not on the goalies. Halak Big Ice goalie, gives up 5. Tukka Rask gives up 4.. ( on 16 shots) Don't these guys have "big ice" experience.
Personally if Miller starts against the Russian's I am okay with it as he a great tender. But just don't get all upset if Quick gets the nod again. I am sure you will though because you are already trying to degrade Quick's performance. I can only imagine what he was thinking actually having goals scored to support him. |

By softie, do you mean the play was off-sides and should have been stopped before the shot? Technically Quick had a shutout.... Let's take a look at a weak goal.... - JCSabs06
Our resident referee pointed out , it was not off side . I will take his word . And yes it was a softie. Another Miller hater how refreshing . Only has carried our team all year . Nice to see you pile on . You think the goal on Miller was a softie ? The USA would not have sniffed the medal round without him. Mvp of the last Olympics hockey was not a freebie.

Not a hater... I think he's great. But he has been known to let in some soft goals at inopportune moments. |

And Quick is better . Put the Kings in Front of Miller! Look at Quicks stats this year . Love when Buffalo fans hate the only player that gives a poop about losing , hell I like that he gets emotional over it. . Everything he does till the moment of a soft goal just does not count . |

And again how much experience does Quick have on international surfaces . Simple question . If you are going to question Millers worth on the international surface . We should know Quick's as well ? Simple enough.
- Maximum Signal
A) I never questioned Miller's ablility, As a matter of fact, I was thinking Miller would start .
B) If you want to talk about International Experience, neither have had it, Miller was at the 2006 Olympics in Turin but didn't play a game, he was in the 2010 Olympics which were played on NHL ice. so neither have had intl experience, so get your facts straight.
C) Garth is the one questioning Quick's ability with his 1000 articles about Miller every single day. |
