It's truly amazing how Sather still has a job. Him and Dolan must have those special kind of benefits together

Yea but what is he supposed to do here? He's trying to be responsible by dealing an asset instead of letting him walk for nothing July 1. Cally's demands (if whats reported is accurate) are a joke. |

If Cally is traded which seems incredibly likely, G will be signed before trade deadline. He'll be the one getting $6 milllion |

Would be happy with Leipold and Fletcher paying Ryan Callhan 6.5-7 million. Hell Fletcher gave Parise and Suter those huge deals last year, which Leipold signed off on. Then Leipold came out in support of a lockout which he helped cause. Please let's try to live in reality for a minute. None us think Glen Sather is Ken Holland. |

I really want to see the stupid team ( sounds like the Wild) that pays Cally close to 7 million a year. Cally is on drugs if this is true. |

And like I said in the last thread, if we had to lose one of the 2, I would rather it be Cally, sucks to say, but replacing that top pair right handed shot D man is a lot harder than a 2nd line at best RW...even with all the intangibles. |

Buffalo needs veterans and help reaching the cap floor. Although I don't see Murray and Lafontaine trying to trade for Callahan. Both will wait until July 5th. |

These intangibles are not worth anywhere near 6.5 mill. |

So an extra mill per year is worth it to this guy to play for a bottom feeder for the next 7 years? So be it. |

Idk, he's from Rochester. That's the only thing fueling those rumors of him going to Buffalo. |

Yikes, this is (frank)ing crazy. Great point on hometown discount.
This makes Hanks deal seem a little frustrating, though he deserves to be the highest paid Ranger that's for sure.
But Cally is a little nuts 6.85? Yikes! Good points about Girardi. He is important, right handed shot D-man. If Cally goes hopefully we bring in a kid to replace him. |

It's is pretty crazy how a player has gone from most loved to most hated in an organization over the course of a week. And I am not saying you Tom, just the fan base as a hole. The funny thing is while the rumors could be true, no one really knows for sure what the demands are and what the Rangers offered haha |

Yep, grew up in Sabres country, wonder how much his wife will like it up there with all the snow & her husband on a horrible team? But that extra mill sure can buy her fancy fur coats. |

Actually Oscar Lindberg and Jesper Fast have been really good and outscoring JT Miller over the last couple of weeks. It is nice having some competition down there
Although I am sure JT Miller is most NHL ready, just saying its nice to see the prospects pick up their game |

It's still going to a sad sad day but the more that comes out the less of a problem I have with trading him, no hometown discount from the Captain besides the fact that he's asking for well more than he's worth is gross, I guess he doesn't care about having a winning team when others can't be resigned because of his ridiculous contract[/img] |

I actually want him to stay. He's one of the hardest working players I've ever seen in a Rangers sweater. I just don't think he should be paid more than guys like Toews, P.Kane, Lucic, Backstrom and Kopitar. He doesn't have the skill set those guys have. If he agreed to take what Dustin Brown was paid and then the Rangers still said no, then I'd be pissed. but paying close to 7 million isn't reasonable. |

Girardi is the perfect for for toronto. Rugged right shooting defensive d man.
I think he would look great beside dion. Even know he's a ufa after seasons end I'd love for t.o to put a offer in. Start with gunnarson and kulamin? Kind of have to match salary, gunner gives them a cheaper safe d man and kuli brings size and defensiveness to the top 9 which they may lose with Callahan...
Thoughts?

No, they'll sign Vanek for something close to $7.5MM to $8MM. After all, he went to the University of Minnesota. |

Bingo. Agree 100% with this. Hate to say it but I do. Still hope they get both re-signed but it's looking less and less likely by the day. |

I see both resigning together soon. I just can't see either going anywhere. This organization brought them in (especially the undrafted Girardi) and seeing them play elsewhere doesn't make any sense; same with making any moves at this time with key players. |
