This is bound to be a tumultuous trip. Dutchy's going to be very important. |

I'm wondering, if all keeps going well for the Avs with Mackinnon replacing Stastny, could this influence the team's decision towards Stastny's status with the team and if they want to keep him? |

I doubt it. At the moment it seems like the Avs have made the decision to keep stastny and it is looking like Stastny wants to stay with the Avs as well.
It is more likely the Avs will trade PA as we just have too many high end forwards, Mcginn as his value has been skyrocketing as of late, wilson or possibly prospects and picks.
We will have to see though. Roy and Sakic have been working the phones pretty hard looking for D, however they have shown they are more than fine declining any deals they don't think is worth while for the avs. |

I can see Mcginn going to somewhere like NYR.
I can't see Stastny moving at least until they figure out the ROR situation. If ROR can not be moved, Stastny could easily play LW on either a Duchene or Mackinnon centered line. |

I would also bet Stastny would take a discount to stay. I think he wants to win more than he wants a raise. If they could lock him in at $5 mill instead of 5.5-6, that would be great. |

Well the Avs should be keeping RoR as there are very few situations where they could get a better player in a trade than he is himself. Stastny give the avs 3 solid centers but can't be converted to wing with his play style. He will stay a center.
Mcginn has been playing out of his mind of late and really raising his value. If he is traded it will be interesting to see what the avs can get in return. Even if he isn't traded he is a great depth player for the Avs and has been picking up his physical play as of late. |

I think so too, granted anything in the 5mil range isn't a bad deal either. Roy and Sakic really getting behind him at the beginning of the year I think plays a factor as well and it is looking to be a brilliant move by their part. |

You know how everyone thinks our defense is terrible? Well, that's because it is and Stastny and O'reilly are both solid defensively and help leave our defense less exposed. Even with our center depth, O'reilly and Stastny hold a lot of value to this team. |

Awesome sauce! I had little hope there at the end as Schneider has our number, was pretty satisfying seeing him mad at the end. |

That was 56 minutes of most boring hockey I've ever seen. Then the last 4+ minutes was pretty much the exact opposite.

I would rather root for the Oilers than have to watch 82 games with the Devils. They are bad and they should feel bad. I can't wait until the Trap dies. |

I think he will take a discount too. But one thing is is that he can't be converted to wing. ROR is playing great on the wing and if McKinnon is playing good then they have a great situation on there hands. 4 number 1-2 centers would be one hell of a situation to have. Stastny or Matty go down then bam the hole is filled.
If not the leafs would be glad to take duchene off your hands |

They get Girardi and watch how excited I become. Then it's just wait for Siemens, Elliott, Bigras, Gertrude, Butcher and co. to mature. Elliott I could lose on the deal to get Girardi. |

I don't get what New Jersey was doing...is that STILL how they play every night? They had a one goal lead. I'd have been pissed off at the end as well, the guy gets no goal support and even when he's pitching a shutout the team didn't even ATTEMPT to score another goal for him.
New Jersey...you are awful. |

The way Barrie has been stepping up lately, I agree moving Elliott, paired with a draft pick, 2nd?, wouldnt be the end of the world if you get a dman like Girardi. |

Thank goodness we don't have to watch the Devils play the Wild... Does a hockey game even take place when those two teams play each other? |

MacKinnon gets more and more comfortable every game. He will be awesome on this team with this young core for years. If they can keep them together. |
