Cory played the puck pretty well last night too. Came out a few times to poke a puck and break up a forecheck ala Marty. With the great Salvador and Anton on the ice we could use any help we get trying to break the puck out. Good to see him gradually improve in this area all year as it was probably the only real knock on his game.

I'd say Callahan for two reasons:

-Jagr is old and could get injured
-While expensive, Callahan can be resigned. Jagr is most likely retiring after this season.

Jags repeatedly said he's not planning on retiring. Only way he'd retire is if he comes across a bad injury between now and the end of the year.

I'd say that's the only way he won't retire. If he plays a good full year, he'll probably retire. We'll see.

I really like Merrill's skill set, and I think he'll be a really good player down the road, but when he makes mistakes right now they are real doozies that always seem to end up in our net. I still think he'd be better served by more AHL time.

I don't know why it's OK to play Merrill despite his huge errors, yet Gelinas and Larsson are in the minors. It annoys me that Larsson isn't on the Devils roster right now.
