Well if this gets nick Schultz out the door than I'm happy.

I don't know if hartikainen will ever play in the NHL anyways so I'm okay with it.

Fraser could come in and end up putting up better corsi numbers. At least enough to beat nick Schultz.

This trade isn't a bad one nor is it good it's a depth move making it easier to trade a defensman and have a short term stop gap

Some of the Oiler bloggers "CoughCopper&BlueCough" seem absolutely devastated by this trade and I don't know why.

Hartikainen might be an NHL player at some point in the future. Key word is might. He might be a good third liner or 4th line player.

Abney will never be an NHL player, ever. I watched him with the Oil Kings and he was barely a WHL player. He wasn't good at punching people in the face and being punched in he face I doubt he would have even been there.

Fraser at least once in a while can play in the NHL. Something of which neither Hartikainen or Abney were going to do for the Oilers this year.

Orr and MacLaren have had a hard time qualifying as "hockey players" this season.

Leafs have players coming off the IR, had to clear some cap room. Instead of waiving him we potentially get something. Oilers wanted some more depth at D. Makes sense.
