As I said in the previous post and like you said. PK PK PK is atrocious, I think its even worse at home the past month or so. Shore that poop up and the Bolts are hard to beat. Easily a top 5 in 5v5 play. Only issue I have in 5v5 play is sometimes they try to spring pass the forwards thru the neutral zone and lose the puck but they can shore that up.

I was disappointed in the third as they sat back after the goal and tried to "survive" and Ottawa scored. I like them to be more aggressive with the lead.

Colorado vs Tampa... this game imo will look like a European large ice game. Both teams fly... I think Bishop stands tall.

Yeah Hedman... he is pretty good.

Yup. Always like it when a team plays the same way with the lead as they did to get the lead. Doesn't happen as often as we'd like, though.

That Hedman is turning out to be pretty damn good. Hey how is Brewer doing? Always liked him as an Oiler, but he's not really the kind of guy you hear much about on the high-lite shows.

Tough year last year, but has rebounded nicely this year. He's much better suited to 15 minutes per game than 20+. As a bottom pairing guy, I've been really impressed with him this season.

Good veteran presence out there.

Probably not available going into the playoff's, but do you think he could be had via trade this summer?

I don't know that they'd be shopping him, but I'm sure that if the right offer came along they'd be willing to move him. No inside information on my end, though.

any chance the bolts make a deal to bring an established defenceman over? its painful to watch the pk and those periods where we get outshot by 10

If SY makes a deal at the deadline, look for it to be for a blueliner. Preferably a right-hander.

Who do you want? There's about 29 other teams looking to add one of those guys.

Bishops numbers the last few games are a little concerning.... Are we seeing the flip side to his first half success?

I'm not sure what stats you're looking at...

In five games since being back from injury, he's put up the following SV%.

.917 vs OTT
.941 vs CAR
.844 vs SJ
.967 vs NYI
.971 vs NRY

Realistically, Bishop is probably a .915-920 goaltender over the long-term. What we've seen this season is exceptional. I don't want to see the fan base turn on him when he regresses back to the mean. But I don't see anything in the recent numbers to suggest that he's been anything but amazing.

I was looking at 11 goals against in 3 games.

Don't get me wrong, if I had different sexual organs I'd be having his babies. I just think that maybe he's hit a wall.

Goals against average is a horrible stat to judge goalie performance with. He faced 51 shots vs. Carolina. 51. And walks out of there with a 3.00 GAA for the game. Are you honestly going to tell me that he played poorly there? Use save percentage. It paints a much fairer picture.

No, but Goal 3 was one I bet he'd like back.

Really? Puck hits his mask, bounces way wide....

He had no shot.

Most people agreed that he would like the first one back. I thought he should have had the second one. Didn't have a problem with a third.

But hey. When he's facing 51 shots against, that sort of thing happens. He played a hell of a game vs. Carolina. No problem with Bishop.

I already have the nails and wood and the place for you to crucify me picked out with this question but I thought I would ask it anyway. What do you think the chances of the lightning acquiring a more veteran stable backup?

I like the stats but the penalties were the mo changes otherwise it's not even close. If the refs didn't put their whistles away on the Sens it looks very different. You can see the Bolts break down on the Pk too often leaving Bish all alone. They have gone from 85% to 79 % in a little over a month. In the end two points and a great record against the Atlantic. Overall 7-4-1 in January so far and everyone was hoping they'd get 65-66 points by the Olympic break and Stammers return - well mission accomplished with 7 games to go.
