Can never seem to win in Nashville. I'd like to go to an Avs game sometime there though it seems like a great city and a rocking home crowd.

It is just insane to think how much Roy has done for this club in just 1 year. I love this team.

What Roy has done with Varly has been spectacular. He's looking like a franchise goaltender at this point. I can't wait to see this team healthy like the beginning of the year. The avs are a team you really don't want to play in the playoffs.

ROR-Duchene-PAP
Tangs-Stazz-Landy
Mcginn-Mackinnon-Talbot
Mcleod-Cliche-Bordy

So much talent up and down our top 9. Also, many interchangeable pieces making the avalanche a matchup nightmare.

1ST PP UNIT:

ROR-Duchene-PAP
Johnson-Mackinnon

2ND PP UNIT:
Tangs-Stazz-Landy
Hejda-Barrie

Those are two frightening units.

Hope the avs can find a way to beat nashville tonight! Jones vs. Mackinnon

I hope so too but its so crazy how we don't really have to. Takes the pressure off as a fan with where we have positioned ourselves, i might actually start just enjoying watching the games now...

Let's Go Avs!

I hope Duchene breaks out of his scoring slump tonight. It's so much more fun when this team is doing well.

More specifically Roy has brought in the Staff to help the Avs succeed with FA as a full time goalie coach who seems to be doing for Varly what he did for Giggy and Roy, as well as The Bear to help our D over achieve.

That got uncomfortable at the end....glad the avs were able to hold-en on. This team needs to learn how to close out games when they have a few goal lead, its beginning to look like a problem.

That was embarrassing at the end, luckily a bunch of other crazy things happened in the NHL today and no one will notice.

Pssh... like anything could top that. A game would have to have a line brawl followed by a coach going to the other teams locker room. Like that ever harkens in today's NHL.

What's the deal with Stastny?
I'm surprised the AVs haven't extended him yet...
Are they possibly waiting to see what they can get worked out w O'Reilly?
If think they'd want to keep them both

But if O'Reilly is up for grabs....
I'm sure Buffalo will be interested

I'm guessing you'd want defense?
Ehrhoff would work nicely for you
And we can prob throw in a forward to take ROR's spot if u throw us a draft pick...
Ott, Moulson, Ennis or Stafford

I'd rather sign O'Reilly AND Stastny if I'm Colorado though

The Avs and O'reilly already agreed to work out a contract in the summer, certainly not unheard of for RFAs. As for Stastny, he is very liked by Roy and Sakic, though I haven't seen anything about contract talks. Hopefully they get him signed soon since he's a UFA would be nice if he took a home town discount.

Stastny struggled under Joe Sacco's system which is why he has been in trade rumors for the last couple years. Now he is thriving again with a new coaching staff. His play this year has justified an extension but the "problem" is that they will have Duchene, Stastny, and MacKinnon fighting for ice time at center. If that's the case it's better to move him to improve other positions. I don't think the team knows what they want to do with him yet. The fact that they've been experimenting with MacKinnon at RW so much lately makes me think they're trying to find a way to keep everyone together and make it all work.

O'Reilly isn't going anywhere this year. Worst case scenario, he matches his 6.5 offer sheet this summer and the team looks at trading him next year. A lot of people that don't watch the team don't realize he's a winger now and think there's no room for him. The contract issues last year are the only reason he's in rumors but there were a lot of questions about what type of player he could be and those questions have been answered. Also, the old management also had this poopty policy of saying take it or leave it then refusing to negotiate when it came to contracts. They'll actually talk this time around.

In regards to Stastny, Buffalo is one of the few teams that should stay away if he does go to free agency. With Sacco anywhere near that coaching staff, it would only stunt Stastny's play. The fact Sacco is there makes me think there is no way in hell Stastny would want to go there anyway.
