No Patrik Elias tonight? Huh. I'm sure Martin Brodeur is up for reminding me why, of all franchises in the National Hockey League, I hate this one most of all -- Pens included.

No team has taken more from the Flyers in the modern era than the New Jersey Devils.

Agreed. Although their #1 rival was, and always will be the Rags to me, the Devils are the one I grew up with. So many things I truly hate about them, starting with Uncle Daddy.

Yeah, I believe this unsubstantiated rumor is in violation of the Hockeybuzz CoC by posting a rumor without a legitimate source linked.

This is off-topic and a long shot, but I'm a nerd who collects (or used to) hockey cards. I am doing a small pet project, and need some cards of Hextall from 94/95 - 97/98 Pinnacle (all Artist's Proofs, and the Premium Stock and Foil from 96/97) and 96/97 Summit (Premium Stock and Metal). If anyone might be able to help me, please let me know. Thanks.

I grew up in the 90s, so I hate the Devils equally as much as the Pens. I hate them for a variety of reasons. Scott Stevens, they ruined my childhood, they ran the trap and made every game excruciatingly boring and teams saw success with the trap so they started using it and it became popular around the league.

I watched the Devils Hawks games. It was on the Comcast Network. The Devils looked really good for 2 periods. Their forecheck looked strong and they were giving the Hawks trouble. They let their guard down to start the third and that's all the Hawks needed.

Big game tonight to keep the roll going before we play at home again.

I am pumped for the Team Canada announcement today and expect Giroux will make it which is quite an honour. I do worry about injury, but I really think this experience will help him grow as a captain and leader of the team.

Seems kinda weird to be almost done with the Devils already this season.

True.

I don't fault the Devils for this as much as I fault the Flyers for seemingly not adjusting to the style of play for that time.

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll be primed to try to ruin our season later. It will be something like the Flyers need to win and have another team lose to make the playoffs. The Flyers will win, and that other team will play the Devils and the Devils will lose in OT.

For me, a true rival needs Fan hatred, and the Devils just dont have any fans... except for the few losers that lurk this board...

I might be able to help. About 20 years ago I bought a complete set of early 90's cards. It might be 94/95. They are at my moms, I will have to look next time I am over.... Not sure its Pinnacle either.

Garth posted it, so...that's an equivalent e1 or whatever.
Lasse "I can block shots pretty well" Kukkonen and Ossi "I once played for the Flyers???" Vaananen also named to the team.

/sarcasm???

Since that time, they have brought their season average up to 2.64 goals per game (111 goals in 42 games) by averaging 3.296 goals per game (89 goals) over the last 27 games. In that span, the club has posted a record of 17-7-3.
