Garth - No offense, but give Matt Ellis his due. It was Ellis' shot that bounced off of Bernier to Scott for his goal. Omark wasn't even on the ice at the time.
I'm thrilled that the Sabres were able to tie the game and force OT and the shootout. However, I am floored that they couldn't muster a single shot on goal among 3 shooters in the shootout. Moulson shot wide, Ennis hit the post and Girgensons hit the base of the net. No shots on goal. That is a huge problem with this team, regardless of their effort (which I love right now). It's ridiculous how often this team cannot hit the broad side of a barn with their shots! Embarrassing.
On a positive note, love the games against Toronto. Can't stand Leino... Omark and Foligno looked completely lost all night long. Nolan should have used Omark in the shootout to get him going with this team, he's similar to Kotalik when it comes to success rates in the shootouts. |

Not as Awesome as it was to watch your team's empty arena 10 years ago . Bandwagon fans, gotta love em. Just wait until the Bruins start to lose again. |

Me too. Exciting games when the Leafs and Sabres meet. Really impressed with Girgensons last night. You guys have a good one there. |

the best you got is to try and make a team from 10 years ago relevant? |

This whole blog talks about Scott's beauty goal (any pewee kid coulda scored that, it was a fluke bounce) and stickin it to the leafs and Kessel..doesnt really talk about how the leafs actually won and the sabres are still the worst team in the league by a country mile |

It's about a country quarter-mile now...the Isles are pretty damn bad |

Doesn't say much for the Laffs when they had to give all they had to beat the worst team in the league. Blow leafs Blow!! |

It's good to see Toronto start it's crash and burn only to watch the playoffs from home again this year. Last year was a fluke and though Buffalo is the worst team in the league right now they have outplayed the leafs through four games. We know we are bad, you just don't realize that your team is not very good.. By the way I had forgotten how biased the referees are in Toronto... |

So the Bruins are done when Z retires, the Sabres are going to suck for the next 1/2 decade based on your keen eye for talent (even though everyone with an actual hockey IQ has their prospect pool in the top 2 or 3 in the league) and, even though you didn't say it, I'm sure the Laffs are Cup-bound?
Get a clue.

I think you better watch that replay again . He jumped over the guy . He fell after jumping over him and scored while falling down . Nice goal. No matter who would have scored it. |

Been awhile since Garf made a Miller reference.
Steen goes down and suddenly it's MIller to St. Louis.
Also gotta love how the Make-Me-Laff fans are so vocal suddenly. While the Sabres may be the worst team in the NHL, what about the Laffs? They seem to be making a serious nose dive as of late. How long until they are also out of the playoffs? The thing is Sabres fans know we are bad, but you Make-Me-Laf fans don't realize you guys are bad too. See ya on the golf course come April!!!!! |

GARTH'S CORNER: The Legend Of John Scott Grows
The Blues have been scouting the Sabres for the past two months. Have they been watching Moulson and Ryan Miller? - garth
Yup... they were told by the team psychic that Steen would go down and as such they were watching Moulson to prepare for that.

The last time your team was relevant, your arses were bounced by who in the western conference finals? Was it? Oh yes, it was! The Buffalo Sabres! Enjoy the 1-2 years that you guys will be marginally better than us. |

Paterson shares in, but is hardly to blame for Canada's loss. The first goal was on a bad turnover by Ekblad. The second was tipped by Leier but may still have been stoppable. The third goal was questionable for Horvat, Dumba and Paterson. The last goal was just a rocket shot that would beat most goaltenders in this tournament. As for the shootout, the czech's dekes were filthy so no complaints there. |
