Did Eichel have a bad game ? I watched both the Canada and U.S games and from what I seen of Eichel I thought McDavid looks like the more talented player. I have only seen Eichel the one game today and have seen Connor 2-3 times so I was wondering but obviously they aren't the same type of player or style if you will. Do you think he will give McDavid a good run for number 1 in 2015 ?

I wouldn't say he had a bad game...he was solid and made some nice plays and even got a little physical, but it wasn't over the top outstanding. Just one game....lots of time to see him shine!

The media will hype the poop out of him to make it a story but there's no way McDavid doesn't go #1

I wouldn't say he had a bad game...he was solid and made some nice plays and even got a little physical, but it wasn't over the top outstanding. Just one game....lots of time to see him shine!

Yea I also think the hand of McDavid lure me into thiking he is better then he is kind of like Drouin. I did like the play where Eichel drove the net slammed the brakes on and toe dragged the defenseman. I liked what I see from Santini but did he get any offensive zone starts ? really liked his hit in the first when he whiped the played out in the corner. Like Matteau's hustle and Barber was one that stood out to me a bit. I think out of everyone we could of drafted before trading the 9th pick this past draft, Mantha is the player I am starting to really love and wished we could of somehow traded our first and something else for Schneider and the nucks first to try and grab a guy like him. Cant remember where vancouver picked so might not of been able to get him either way but man 6'5 and does nothing but score

I thought they where the same age but either Miller or Ferraro said he was a year older then McDavid so that kind of puts McDavid in a higher category for me. McDavid reminds me a lot of Drouin and I don't know if those dangles will fly at the NHL level but if any 2 could do it other then P Kane it would be these 2. Also McDavid is obviously more then just hands his I.Q is Crosby like whoever gets him will be a lucky franchise for a long time I just hope he doesn't go to an expansion team or something

Well....technically he's right. Eichel is 17 and McDavid is 16, but Eichel is only older by 10 weeks and for the purposes of this tournament McDavid has an extra year because his birthday is in January.

Vancouver had the 24th in the first round so Detroit still would have gotten him. Funny that the Wings were able to trade down 2 spots with the Sharks and still get Mantha but got Tyler Bertuzzi (2nd round pick) to do it.

Nice to see Barber open up the scoring. Pittsburgh kids have been a very big part of the USA's success recently.
