Bill, any slight chance that Lauridisen ends up in the lineup?

My girlfriend LOVES him, and she's going tomorrow with me.

Nah, we're just gonna float around .500 until Morin and Hagg are ready in a few years.

No D men, but our 2nd and 3rd lines are gonna look great!

Bill

I know you do not deal, or give any worth to rumors, as most of us do, but is anything being discussed, any whispers, any understanding by management or ownership that this team needs to do something with the current makeup of defense sooner & not later?
It's just so hard to fathom that our blue line has gotten so bad, and what can, or will they do something to rectify it?

19 Scott Hartnell - 10 Brayden Schenn - 17 Wayne Simmonds
24 Matt Read - 14 Sean Couturier - 40 Vincent Lecavalier

Call me crazy, but these lines should be flipped. Read, Coots, Vinny should be getting iced to play some offense instead of trying to shut down top lines. That line clearly possesses more skill. This is where having both Hartnell and Simmonds paired together hurts you because they have to default as the 2nd line because their defensive ability to grind top lines is just not up to snuff.

Get rid of Hartnell and put McGinn in... That would be the best mix up they could do... Hartnell is a character/ great guy / entertainer all that good stuff but for 4.7 million he should be scoring 30 goals every season... Its about winning not personality... because if it was Briere would still be in a flyers uniform....

I don't think we have a 2nd and 3rd line so much as 2 2nd lines that get nearly the same amount of time on ice. It really comes down to which is getting it done better on any given night, and that lines moves up to 2.

It'd be great to get a win before the break, start the Christmas season n a good note, get back over NHL .500...Haven't seen any roster moves, like sending Gustafsson to the IR to make room for a call up.

I'd rather see Alt or even Manning instead of Gill or Meszaros.

Based on ice time, the Couturier line is the 2nd line. There's been games where they've led the team in ice time, even over Giroux's line.

I doubt the Flyers will have this sort of luck against Backstrom

I couldnt agree with you more! Id love for them to make room for Alt. The roster needs a big shake up and id be willing to move a handful of players to make room for McGinn, Alt, and Morin....

Id shake the team up enough to get rid of Hartnell, Simmonds, Voracek, Schenn Brothers, Meszaros and go get Evander Kane, and Big Buff and another fast skater and call me crazy but id even try to get Jagr back for a year...

I wouldn't be so eager to make so many massive changes. I wouldn't trade Voracek, and honestly, if I could get anything of value for Hartnell, I'd try to keep Simmonds.

The Flyers need more of a tweak that a massive rebuild, IMO.

Looked like Emery

Say what you want about breakdowns, you could see Emery looked like poop. He's not dynamic. I have very little faith in him.

Wow I'd say that is a bit of an over reaction, but I'd like to see them bring up someone from the Phantoms.

Rumor has it that the Flyers and Capitals will be playing in an over-priced, over-marketed game next season in freezing outdoor temperatures. No word whether or not any lawyers have started the paperwork for a class action lawsuit against Capitals management.

Well, first of all, Morin can't come up until the end of his junior year. So, no.
Alt has a grand total of like 40 games of pro hockey under him, so I don't think he's gonna be a key piece of turning this season around. And McGinn is what he is: a big-bodied bottom-6 player who can crash the net and bang some bodies while potting some goals here and there.

As for the idea of blowing up half of the team (with the exception of Meszaros) for 2 guys (and then having to back-fill the massive amounts of holes you just created), I can't get on board. I'm not saying be afraid to make trades, but trading 2/3 of your top-6 for 2 top-6 and 1 defenseman and bringing back Jagr for 40 games is probably not the best solution, this season or going forward.
