No, sorry Edler hasn't been good this year. There is a reason Nucks fans are shopping him around all over the place lately.

He makes far too many mistakes to give up an asset like O'Reilly. We don't have anything to replace the hole that would create up front either.

At this point though i'd welcome a change on the back end. PP is god awful.

D-Men don't come cheap though, similar to quality centers(unless you just want a rental player or a d-man who isn't a true top 4 guy). I doubt you'll be able to get a legit top 4 d-man who isn't a rental with just the usually HB spare parts quality for quantity trade(3rd line type player, plus pick and/or prospect).

I'm guessing a solid center like Stastny could be moved for one if a team really believes that they could re-sign Stasnty before he becomes a UFA.

But thats going to be the solution to this D Group for this season. The Deadline will be interesting. Either you see a major O'Reilly trade, and Stastny extention, or a Stastny trade and an O'Reilly extention. I would love to see both sticking around, but thats a lot of money tying up in your Top 6 (Carolina is a prime example of that)

If they plan on moving stastny, they better extend O'Reilly quickly in those 4 days before the deadline, or else he has major power in negotiations moving forward if they move Stastny.
