Ya know Gluck........ i've always felt that the Leafs could play that angle with their players. Being Toronto, they could make alot of money with sponsorships and paid appearances, and thus the players could make alot of money, by signing with Toronto even though it would be at less than market value.

I've seen other teams do it... like half the Penguins team doing that poopty car commercial... but never really saw it with Leafs players. I guess the Leafs' marketing team didn't want the brand to look cheap, and turned down the opportunities.

Last one I remember was Sundin doing a commercial with Gretzky for McDonalds... but when you're with the world's best player doing a commercial for the world's biggest brand... it doesn't really cheapen your brand.

Now you've got Lupul modelling for that clothing company, Kadri as the brand ambassador for Paramount foods, and Dion doing an appearance for Target.
