Why would the Flyers trade trade him? He is part of the only line that can score on this team, don't see why they'd trade him.

There is ZERO CHANCE Couturier gets moved. He's already a shutdown defensive center. He's finally getting his offensive game together and he is signed for 2more years at a VERY FRIENDLY cap hit of 1.75 per year.

Sure they can have Couturier. It'll cost Taylor Hall. Still interested?

Flyers should just take a knee for the rest of the year. Play their young players and move some of the veterans. Sure, they could make a run for a playoff spot, but are they really going to knock off any of the top 6 in the playoffs? Where they're at now, they'll likely end up picking at 15 and missing the playoffs.

They're three points back of new York with a game in hand. They don't even need to "go on a run for a playoff spot". They could be in a playoff spot in a couple of days.

Should I do this trade?

Moulson and Krejci for Clarkson and Harding.

My other goalies are Howard (main reason I want another goalie), Lehtonen and Giguere.

My main reservation is Krejci...my league counts faceoffs as well as hits and PIM (which is why Clarkson is the forward coming back - going to be pretty useless for points.)

Agreed, if indeed the Flyers want to trade Couturier. Him and O'Reilly should be the targets for any team wanting a good young center.

Considering his defensive value, offensive potential, age and cheap cap hit, I'd think he'd be one of the few guys they WOULDN'T want to move.

Yes. Moulson is going to be useless for points anyway.

Well since the trade he has 9 points in 11 games with Buffalo. I think Buffalo might flip him to a better team later. Certainly will be more useful for points than Clarkson

Like I say I'm more concerned about losing Krejci...

I've got Lehtonen and Giggy as well, lol.. Reimer being #3.. loser.. anyways.. at least his save% is good, haha..

Losing Krejci for the fow sucks. I got lucky and was able to draft Toews, Getzlaf, Duchene, Nielsen (WTF!!!?), and a couple others.. so no worries there, heh.

Horcoff is playing awfully well in Dallas lately.. cheap wire pickup for draws and even a few other things..

For centers I already have Turris, Nielsen (on verge of dropping him though), Couture, Seguin, M. Richards and Hanzal so I suppose I can survive on FOW...

Zibinejad is also there, he seems to be taking a fair amount of draws despite being on spezza's wing....hmmm

Never mind, he just offered me TJ Oshie, Clarkson and Holtby for M Richards, Moulson and Howard, accepted. Being patient paid off!

I cant see any way this trade makes sense for either team.

Shea Weber didn't pry couts away from philly.. and this was before he started to actually show some offensive upside (which i blame lavy for, not putting him in a position to succeed)

so with that in mind, what kind of deal it would take to get him off the flyers hands, wouldn't make sense for Edmonton.

You're talking the kind of deal that would leave one side or the other saying 'fvck no'

The 2nd line of vinny/schenn/simmonds is working out nicely once vinny is back.. the 3rd line is probably one of the best in hockey right now (i said right now, simmer down haters).. downie was exactly what that line needed to get going.

I wouldnt hate seeing them move hartnell (has a ntc i believe and I do like him but he just isnt 1st line material).. or even simmonds or voracheck to bring back someone to play with giroux that is more consistent.. but realistically I think the F group is going to be stuck how it is for the foreseeable future unless homer does something dumb.

Wait and see how the season goes...

f they are out of it unload a D or 2 at the deadline for some younger players, and wait and see what the offseason brings.

if they are in the hunt come deadline time, then try and do some tweaking for this season.
