Need Duncan Keith to actually come back for that icing. Mental lapse, waived off, Seabrook penalty...tie game. Just mental blunders.

Plus Crow....have some coffee. Time to get going.

Crawford was ridden hard and put away wet. Personally I would like to see Raanta get more starts. I know the players like no practices, but perhaps they need to practice their PK. Are the players looking towards the Olympics instead of focusing at the task at hand? Not sure why the mental blunders keep happening.

Wow…Olsen and Hayes contribute to one of the weakess rosters in the NHL….
I am happy they are able to contribute on Tallon's toliet bowl roster…

And the ducks could beat the champs too, but I refuse to buy in to the Sky is falling…

I will leave that to the rest of you.

Last year it was PP PP PP whine.

Lots of time, lots of good teams, so expecting to win them all or having let ups is childish.

and here, I thought, even though EVERY team in the league is gunning for them, that the Blackhawks weren't gonna lose another game during regular season or playoff!

….so their major league roster suddenly again adds Nordqvist and Morin, and players have to adjust to the situation on the two middle lines…and those lines did score.

Long way to go before anybody should crapping so much negative energy here on the rest of us.

in case anyone noticed jimmy hayes had a goal and dylan olsen had a goal and an assist last night for fla. they also combined for 6 hits--as many as entire Blackhawk team. Versteeg zero hits.

Here it is after my post!

Hey Georgie,

I am happy two guys incapable of playing on a championship roster with high end speed can play on a sheety Panther team.

I didn't realize that wounded knee Versteeg was our new banger.

There seems to be a disconnect between how the hawks win and what you think teams need to do to win….watch more games….but I got that reading your "thoughts."

Good to see the post right after mine is filled with positivity to so many parts of the Stanley cup winning roster.

Opps ! It is gone.

Today @ 8:42 AM ET
It's simple. The biggest mental blunder is CC. If the goalie could stop the puck we wouldn't be having this conversation. He goes down too early, his glove side has to be the weakest in the league, he plays too deep, he had no sense of where the net is so he rarely challenges the shooter, he has one if the slowest reaction times I've ever seen, he has no pad control, he flails himself out of position, he can't be trusted to know when to leave the net or not. CC simply sucks and the gamble that the team in front if him could overcome his lack if fundamentals simply isn't working like it did last year.

Powerplay is a nice to have. Penalty killing is an absolute must. I knew the Hawks would lose something on the penalty kill with Frolik gone but was he THAT important? What I don't understand, and contrary to what other anti Q posters harp on, is why Quenneville sticks with the group of penalty killers that so clearly isn't getting the job done? The Hawks have forwards who have shown to be good on the PK in the past but we're not seeing them, like Sharp or Versteeg, or using Toews and Hossa more often or why not try Kane with his new found defensive responsibility?

No the sky isn't falling but without a good to great PK and with average goals against a repeat ain't gonna happen this year. On the other hand Hawk Management may have a similar strategy as they did after the 2010 cup win, to build up to the next cup win in a methodical manner and allow the team to gel together without making panic moves for a serious run in the next year or two?

Sorry tired of this one too.

Deflected redirected pucks are tough saves.

That old "goes down too early" adage doesn't appy to way most goalers play the position now.

I may need new glasses but over the last five games I saw CC make reallly fine huge glove saves on rising hard shots.

So to me it is like the Minnesota broadcast team calling the Morin goallucky and the top shelf goals skill goals that goalies have little chance defending.

So everyone tired of the non argument.

Suddenly frolik, the darling on a couple seasons of abuse here (before last season) is the strongest link in the chain.

Maybe Hayes and Olsen should be here killing penalties….like they could handle that duty.

i do watch almost every game and am aware how they win. love this team and their speed. however, during regular season need to check or end up with small guys like shaw getting hurt because doing job not built for. even cheerleader pat foley was shocked how hawks recoreded zero hits in 1st period. point versteeg not physical player. i'll be careful to explain more clearly for you.

Thanks but I'll take Versteeg and what he brings over what Hayes and Olsen bring any day of the week. Neither of those guys had a chance to play for the Hawks so to get a full time player in return for two spare parts was a great trade for the Hawks.

I wanted everyone to see all those negative comments from our fellow posters- pretty much par for the course.

More fixes for the SS Blackhawk than necessary.

You know I am not talking regular season. Without a good penalty kill the chances of them repeating aren't good, you know that as well as I do.

Goals for wins regular season games. Goals against win championships. Vancouver, Washington and a host of other teams have proven that over the years.

No beef with you George, just don't think it is time you any of us to go neagtive and build a case that focuses on one player, one aspect.

Frolik was on the roster for the two seasons preceeding the last Stanley Cup, so give up on thinking he would have made anything different.

There is something very wrong with the design of both the PK and PP.

OK…I AM DONE

Going back to trying to find some positives in watching the 2014 draft class videos and this is a really bland, boring and non-exciting group, and I am starting to doubt whether this draft helps any team sooner or later.

Wow....... Hey Wiz, how about some decaf? It's a little early for the "whole prevention police" thing.

For the record, the post directly after yours offered no opinion whatsoever. All it mentioned were stats. Olsen and Hayes scored goals and had six hits. Those are stats. Facts. Those happened. Versteeg had no hits. That's simply reading a score sheet.

There was no verbiage like "Bull@#&$ trade" or any comments about Stan....or Q...... or anything.

In fact, the only "Heightened Rhetoric" on this board is someone referring to Dale Tallon's "Toilet team" which was written BY YOU!!!!!!!

I get it, you hate when people over react to losses. I do too. In no way do I think the sky is falling. But two straight losses allows us to ask why. And the weak PK is a cause for concern. So it's going to be discussed and its probably going to be blown out of proportion. It is a hockey blog after all. You should kinda know that goin in....

But if you're looking for the person being confrontational and "over the top" with their posts, look in the mirror...

Agree with you on both counts. no reason to go negative as great team and almost always out hit. love the team which is why look at so closely.
