I agree with everything except for Snow. He needs to go now as well. I do admire how he has rebuilt the talent level within the organization but with the exception of a couple of hits on waiver pickups the rest of his resume is not good. And I admit this even though I've been one of the voices on here touting him the last couple of years. This past off season, not next years, should be his test. He failed to fix a glaring hole in net, despite the fact that 2 of the best young goalies in the league were moved. I don't see how, considering the multitude of assets at his disposal, he couldn't have swung a deal for one of them. And trading Niederrieter, Moulson, a first and a second without addressing the the other huge hole on this team, namely the defense, is really inexcusable. Add all this to his seemingly unwavering support for a coach who is so obviously in over his head that it's terrifying really boggles my mind. It's time for the Garth Must Go chants.

The one that NEEDS to go is Wang, yes he saved the team, Kudos to him, without him this team would have been in Quebec years ago. His ability to now move the team forward has run out. His need to be involved in everything going on with the team is a huge hindrance. His ability to become friendly & loyal to his players, coaches & staff is a wonderful thing, but it has proven to be one of his biggest downfalls. We need a real owner in here that will make the GM accountable to the losing, I would prefer that a new owner keep Snow & let him work a season with no restrictions, regardless....

Wang must go!

Oh Danny boy......

Like the post, finally you are starting to see the light

But, I have to disagree on some points.

Triple XXX just mentioned Wang and I somewhat agree bc Wang is really not interested in this team or any hockey related stuff. He is just interested in the real estate surrounding the coliseum. So bc he did not get his wish, he shall now sell off...

I don't know if I've give Snow another off-season bc while his greatest asset is building the prospect pool, but he lacks creativity of evaluating his players knowing who should stay or move on.
Snow doesn't get the respect of other GM's or even the respect from the players agents. Snow could have changed the culture of this team but chosen to let it be circus act with Wang. Since they are both tied at the hip, they both need to be relieved as well.

With some simple minor additions that would not have cost much, would of made this team far better.......but hey what do I know, I'm just a stupid fan buying the BS......NOT

Dan, I agree with you...except for Snow. I've always said Snow isn't an NHL caliber GM and he proved it with the trade he made for Vanek. Vanek isn't an elite talent anymore and he ruined the chemistry JT had with Moulson. He should have used those assets to get a goalie and a defenseman. We all know Vanek will be leaving in the summer so he better trade him for the best possible package at the trade deadline.

xx..if Wang sells, in all likelyhood Snow will go too. A new owner is going to put in their own people in top management spots....

I make that trade every day of the week and twice on Sunday. If the chemistry was that fragile then they have the wrong players here.

I honestly think wang spends when he gets to Brooklyn. I think he'll raise the value of the franchise and sell to the Barclays group. I get how you all feel about wang I do. But if he was still this cheap Scrooge; dipietro would still be on this team and snow would have never been allowed to aquire Vanek. I totally understand everyone's frustration with this team from owner to gm to coaches. Wang is cheap is a cop out argument , I think there is more too it than that

im afraid until viznosky and strait come back we are in trouble.
lets hope Nilsson does well tonight. I do feel more comfortable with him net over Poulin.
Poulin doesnt do it for me. He is out of position way too much. As much as the ice was tiled Detroit took over the Game when howard made big saves and Poulin did not.

I was always Martinek fan but that guys has seen his better years. He has been one of worst defenders.

also why would Nelson get the Seat if he was one of the best players on ice last night.

THIS GUY REGIN is AWEFUL.

Stubhub prices for the game... lol
Washington Capitals at New York Islanders Tickets Nassau Coliseum
Uniondale, NY
7:00 p.m. EST Sell

Priced from:
$9.95 USD 803 tickets left

Same price as a beer at Nassau! lol, Cheaper buzz at home!

After last nights loss I would try anything at this point and keep Clutterbuck with Tavares and Vanek. Re-unite the Bailey, Nielson, Okposo line.

We all know that Wang is a big problem and a huge hindrance to improvement. But realistically, he's not going anywhere. He just made a deal with the Barclays that guarantees him income and profit (purportedly). He's not going to sell now and not recoup some of his massive losses over the last ten-plus years. So we need to be realistic in dreaming up moves they can make to improve.

I also don't think Snow deserves another off season to improve this team. He's in his 8th season headed for his sixth non-playoff finish. He chose this roster (albeit with likely salary constraints). He chose this coaching staff and it's predecessor staff. He chose to trade assets for players that didn't address obvious needs going into this season. He's had his chances. He's failed. Aside from re-stocking the system with prospects and signing some core guys to team friendly deals, he has not done well over his seven plus seasons. He should be out the door with his hand picked coaching staff.

Maybe he gets until the end of the season. I'd be okay with that. But if Snow doesn't find a coaching staff that can turn this season around (it's not too late to do that, yet) and he doesn't fix this putrid "D" and goaltending situation by April and get this team into the playoffs, he should be gone.

I looked on there a few weeks ago and could have gotten a 300 level end section seat for 6 bucks.

Correct, you do it the flyer way by overspending on over the hill players, which has obviously worked as they have won so many cups ( wait, wrong team, sorry)

First of all "We" don't fix this mess because we are just fans. It's understandable that in the offseason they wanted to upgrade the forward skill with PMB and add some grit with Clutterbuck. I didn't like seeing Nino go but seems like that situation was ongoing with Snow and his agent who saw no future for his client with this franchise. Unfortunately most agents share that sentiment.

With that in mind every fan, agent and journalist knew that goaltending and d had to be addressed but no UFA d-man or goalie wanted to sniff this team. Cue the regular season and no fan wanted to see any young prospect like Strome go but to address the JT winger situation he trades Moulson a UFA for another UFA who seems to be making the best of the situation. Also factor in the dumping of Streit for essentially nothing and one can only wonder??????

I can see the philosophy that this team is being built around JT but when you have Grade C Goaltending and a defense that is overwhwelmed there is nothing but despair amongst the players, fans and management.

Last season was not an anomaly but with the shortened schedule they played most of their games against division rivals. Oxymoronicaly in the Metropolitan Division they've hardly played any Metro teams. The coaching staff and players are overwhelmed because they have to prepare against teams that play sound technical hockey.

At this point no rash trades involving young prospects for seasoned players (let Miller stay in BUF) is going to put them in the top eight. Best bet is to play the prospects because everyone from the management, players, fans and journalists miscalculated this team based on last season's run and a brief run against PITT in May.

system and crappy defense is what is killing the teams 5 on 5 play. The d are no good yet encouraged to jump up in the play. this leads to all the turnovers....the team defense then needs to kick in (and also stinks) which leaves the once quick transitioning creative forwards trying to back check rather than attack...results in the entire squad spinning around chasing the other team in our end of the rink. you then get tired lazy and stupid and more PK as a result...couple dependable defense and the forwards regain the confidence to be creative and think goals....this will continue until system and quality changes....in summary good bye JACK!!!!
