Great game, thought be Bs slightly outplayed the Blues, but having last change will help tilt a close game.

If these two met up in the finals it could turn into a street fight.

Nothings wrong with a hard faught tie. Too many shootout points affecting the standings. Make a shooutout win worth half a point

I agree, ties were the worst. Teams were happy to take the tie point so OT was worthless.

I honestly think that in order to get rid of the shootout and the tie, get rid of both teams getting point. A tie neither team won, no one gets points. That might produce some effort and chances in the last few minutes of the game and OT.

Can't do continuous. The eastern media already female doges about games running late during the playoffs. Imagine the crying during the regular season.

Regulation win = 3 points

OT win = 2 points (5 minutes of 4 on 4 and then 5 minutes of 3 on 3)

Tied after OT = 1 each

NO SHOOTOUT

Fun tidbit I don't know if any of the Boston media mentioned: After the Blues won the game via coin toss, excuse me, shoot out; an angry Bruins fans chucked his snack at the Blues players. He missed, but Jackman skater over, picked up the thrown M&M's, and started eating them. Sounds hilarious, wish it had made it into the broadcast.

I don't like shootouts either, but Rask could have prevented it by not letting in the worst goal I have seen in quite some time. Again, picking Kelly for it was ludacris especially since Kelly stopped taking face offs due to injury.

Blues are a great team, remind me a lot of the Bruins.

Better still, teams shouldn't be rewarded with losing in overtime or the shootout.

The point system is flawed; wins and losses are the only categories that should count in the standings. There are teams with less wins, than other teams in their conference, but are still higher in the standings.

That is a complete disgrace.

I hate shootouts, but acknowledge that, as the blog states, they are part of the rules and have been for years now.

I wish there was a better system, but in a sport like hockey, there's no way to guarantee someone is going to outscore someone in regulation and a five-minute overtime.

I guess I'd rather have this than a system that could possibly make things worse -- longer OTs just mean players have more of a chance of getting hurt.

Last night's LA-NJ game featured a 2 min span of 3 on 3 due to coincidental minors in OT. Numerous end to end rushes. I'm starting to think that could work.

In contrast - I was secretly hoping for a shootout from about the 12 minute mark of the third period on - figuring that would be the Blues best chance to steal an extra point.

Very entertaining game. Was anyone else thinking what a terrific SCF these two teams would make?

I could see it.

Honest question to Boston fan: How has Iginla been to this point? I can't remember even hearing his name called until late in the third period last night.......

Oh look, bruins organization trying to change the rules again.

Suspend Rask for his comments, at ghetto very least he deserves a fine.

Agree it will be a great SCF.

Iggy is an improvement over Horton. This line had trouble getting the puck out of their own zone last year. Not the case this year.

Agreed Vancouver needs the loser points to be even half way competitive.

Thought the exact same thing ... want a 7 game series vs the Blues so bad.

Iggy has been good despite the lack of production. That line has cooled off a bit, but they've been far more consistent than they were with Horton on it. He seems to keep Krejci/Looch on point and going every game. Would definitely love to see more G's out of him, especially for the $ but all in all I'm happy he's on the team.

He does have some great "freak out" tape. Nothing beats the milk crates though.
