Great win!!

Grossman may have saved the outcome, & he has been playing to his strengths, as well as Coburn, Gus & Luke Schenn have all played well

Mason is unreal!!, wonder what kind of extension $$$ he will get, but he's proving to be as good as anyone in the league

I still wish we could ship Streit somewhere, anywhere, he's terrible, waste of $, turnover factory that still can't hit the net

Just think... you have many more years of factory production to enjoy from Streit.

Luke went to the press box due to poor play, but I don't see berube cutting streit's time or benching him.

I know we're winning, but because we are finally scoring & Mason standing on his head, as well as the other D men are playing better, but his turnovers are going to cost us, (they did for a breakaway in a game I can't remember) but I think Gus is playing so well now that maybe they should put his overpaid a$$ in the press box.

That goal, in all real-world likliehood, was in. The Flyers were saved because there wasn't conclusive evidence.

Either way, it was nice to see them fight back and close out the game well.

This is really starting to look like a very poor decision by Homer...as happy as I am that they are winning, climbing the standings and almost at .500, the defense's inability to hit the net/get shots through from the point is mind boggling.

I feel incredibly ripped off... You can talk inconclusive mumbo jumbo all you want, that puck was in.

Doesn't change that my team sucks though.

I can't believe how bad he is at keeping the puck in at the point.

i know what you mean. like when the ducks came here and the flyers played them great, gave up a two goal lead and then lost on a goal that should have been called a hand pass at the blue line. totally deflating goal, just like the non-call seemed to deflate your boys last night. bad calls made every game, we can only hope they even out

I thought it was too. But the last replay I saw it looked like Grossmans right leg was angled out over the goal line while his right skate was clearly in the net. Looked to me like the puck hit his above his skate and came straight down on the goal line.

But, good thing it wasn't ruled a goal initially ' cause it never would have been over turned.

The last two games against the Flyers the Sens goaltending has been rather suspect...thought that was supposed to be a team strength. Also Spezza looked pretty useless out there...not that I'm complaining

The Flyers need to worry about getting points, however ugly.

Still, last night was not an impressive outing. Far too many dumb penalties. They had three delay of game calls for shooting the puck out. That simply can't happen.

They played a strong first forty minutes, then sagged in the third, until the non goal. That seemed to piss them off, but after restoring the two goal lead, they lagged again....and took another dumb penalty.

The Flyers need to hone a killer instinct, to put their foot on an opposing team's throat.

Agreed.

On the flipside, two weeks ago we were talking about Giroux trade offers and maybe another coaching change. Now we're talking killer instinct and putting teams away when up.

Definitely an uptick.

Yeah, nitpicking a win is so much better than looking for a moral victory after a loss.

Would be very detrimental to the other team's ability to win since most of the Flyers' players wear razor-sharp skates on their feet. I say we save that trick for the next SCF appearance, as it will most likely result in several multi-game suspensions as well as years of incarceration at a state or federal prison.

Razor skates should be standard issue for the next pens game.

I was actually thinking about replacing Rosehill's hands with wrapped clubs similar to the one Clay Matthews had, and lining the outside with some steel sheet metal. He doesn't really need a stick when he could just club people to death out there.

I think some of how they looked last night was as much a function of Ottawa as it was the Flyers.

The Flyers have been winning, getting points, and that's good -- they looked every bit as bad as a team that was 1-7, at the start of the season. They've looked much better since, and that's great.

But at the same time, when they're facing teams with some talented players, some holes can show up from time to time -- I mean, yeah, it's easy to joke about Bobby Ryan because of how often he gets mentioned, but damn, that guy was all over the freaking place last night. Ottawa looked faster, as a whole, as well.

That doesn't mean much more than the Flyers have talent in some spots and some flaws. The Flyers are an interesting team to watch because they have a goalie who can mitigate some of their flaws and, if they keep their feet moving, have just enough talent to make a fan visualize what they might be able to accomplish, as a whole.

if not for an absolute lack of scoring and a few blown 3rd period leads, the flyers are in a playoff position right now. even with the horrible start, just 2 points out i think. if they can continue this kind of play they should get in. best thing so far is seeing that mason hasn't missed a beat regardless of what's in front of him. he just keeps going.

i think they got lucky on the no-goal call at grossmann's feet. they made the right call because it wasn't conclusive on the video but if i were a betting man, i think that's over the line. sometimes it goes your way.

Pretty sure the narrative is that the Flyers made their own luck on that play.
