Henrik's penalty and Bieksa's fight sunk the Canucks at critical moments last night. San Jose would trade Desjardins for no-Bieksa with 5 minutes left trailing 1-0 any day of the week. They should have done more to put the puck in the net, not just on net, but if they were going to win 1-0, you can't take those kinds of penalties. |

Yeah, but I feel its more about the teams inability to score more than 1 goal a game. If Santorelli, Burrows, Henrik or Higgins scores on their glorious chances, we win that game.
Can't be a 1 goal per game team, and expect to win. |

watched the Game too......Canucks were trying to Hang on to a 1 goal lead..wrong idea boys...Sharks had momentum going, forchecking last few minutes; in regulation..Canucks Dmen need to play consistant......and the OT pelenty was warranted, Sedin was sloppy in his zone......LUO was left to dry.....
Kassian & Booth, why doesnt Torts place Kass in the zone..front of net, instead he tries skating around, ughh! |

Lu to Florida for Tim Thomas - LeftCoaster
In a heartbeat were I the GM. I'd even let FLA retain salary and I'd throw in David Booth to sweeten the pot. |

Happy for Lack
Good guy who is handling his new role well.
@ Carol,
Obviously all rumours should be taken with a grain of salt, but Bob McKenzie mentioned the other day that Goc was one of the five Panthers roster players who they consider untouchable.
Along with Huberdeau, Barkov, Bjugstad, and Gudbranson. So at the very least he would take a considerable overpayment. |

Trading Lu could (frank) us over big time later on since we'd still get a cap penalty if he retires early. Buying him out after this season makes a lot of sense assuming there will be multiple decent UFA goalies available. |

Yeah, but trading him to Fla for Thomas would be such a great story, and I guess my little joke about allowing Fla to retain salary wasn't very funny.
Anyway, it aint gonna happen. I can't wait to see what happens in a few years when one of these cap circumvention players does retire. With Kovulchuk already on the books for NJ it will be pretty tough to argue against it. |

Buying him out is a non-starter with the Aquilini group, right or wrong, proceed under the assumption that it's not going to happen.....EVER! |

How many times have you watched Luongo lose a shutout in the last minute or so? Every time the shutout is near something goes wrong and the other teams scores. You can almost bet on it, lol. Is it Luongo or the skaters on the ice?? I like Luongo but great goalies find a way to perserve the goose egg. Terrible way to lose a hockey game for the Canucks and their fans. |
